Dear all,
The veg light hours of my last grows with "real tropical plants" were 14 light 10 dark hours at the start, moving to about 2 weeks of 12 light 12 dark and 2-4 months of 11 light 13 dark for flower.
If I look at the daylight hours of Kerala, latitude about 10 N, the longest day light is 12:30 light 11:30 dark and the shortest day light is 11:30 light 12:30 dark.
Using the tropical light hours would save a few hours of electricity (and heat) in veg. But is it worth it? Or is shifting from 14 hours of light to 11 hours of light a better flowering stimulus, making flowering go faster?
Does anyone use a cycle with max 12:30 light hours for their "tropical plants"? Anyone any thoughts on it?
Best Wishes,
P
