Not really a big deal at all, remember that in nature the length of the day is constantly changing. I think that as long as you can stay reasonably close to 12/12 the plants won't notice the slight differences day-to-day, and the flowering cycle won't get interrupted. Just don't allow any accidental lights-on time when the plants are supposed to be having their dark period.

Why do you hate timers? I think you are taking a big risk turning the lights off and on manually.

man, i couldnt live without a timer now. Im deffo not the best at timekeeping tho, lol.

Ive read lots of stuff about timers failing, and didnt want that happening to me.solution for me was to get a heavy duty timer.
I got one for ten pounds, and it can handle up to 600w, but im using it with 250w.
Ballast is plugged into it, then straight into normal plug socket.
Its the cheapo ones that fry themselves easily.

Curious to know what u mean they never work for u. Do they fry themselves, or is the setting up of the timer difficult?
Im sure many people here would be more than willing to help.

Stay Safe.

I got a 15-20 dollar timer from homedepot.

two outlet and fully digital screen, very easy to setup and as far as i know has never failed on me... lol one time I did turn it off manually then back on manually without putting it on the auto cycle and it ran 24 hours for a day or two in flowering cycle... oh well, didnt seem to mess much up... just slowed down flowering a bit.
