I have a pl lighting system that is 1000w it is only a 120,277,347 could I use the 277 tap to hook up to my 220v I already have up and running? Thanks

i believe that using 120v will wind up costing more on the electricity bill, i have this same problem with my ballasts, they are all 1,000 watters that are set for 120v, it sucks.... i want 240v or 220v whichever is applicable.

Yes as long as there is not any other high draw devices on that circuit. Most 120v home circuits are 15a... which gives you lil leg room in running extra amperage on the circuit your 1000watter is on

You do have single phase 277V actually,it's just one leg of a 277/480 high voltage panel, but you wont find it in homes only commercial office bldgs. You only have single and three phase,a single phase panel has two line lugs,a three phase panel has three. When I hear two phase it makes me giggle like a schoolgirl lol

^^lol...technically 240v is 2 phase since it's fed from 2 hot legs 180 out from each other tho - right? Everybody (myself included) I know calls it single phase tho for practical purposes.
