I absolutly LOVED my nlxbb from female seeds, i never had any problems with hermie, they were all very uniform, the yeild was average but the taste and potency were amazing, like sour grapes
You pretty much have to have CFL's in a cabinet or some other enclosed space to get buds like this am I wrong? I get stretchyness from CFL's unless there is an HID arround or there in the CFL veg cab. Just wondering if you could post your setup for all to see!
killer lifesavers!....im lovin that photo thingy you made......i need to finish my pack of ls, my two were a bit flavorless (even with compost teas only).................wanna see em?.......nf
Truth is that Lifesaver needs the least light of all my strains to yield well and to have tight nugs. That makes it a great strain given high electrical costs and security concerns. CFL's make plenty of light for Lifesaver as everyone can see. BOG
Thanks everyone and nice pics. I agree with BOG about the Lifesaver, it does exceptionally well with CFLs.
Dub, when using the CFLs I position them within an inch or two from the plant canopy and use mylar to refelct the sides. Inorder to avoid streching, your lights have to be close to the plants.

Cool setup Greenstreet. This is what I came up with for my veg cabinet. Maybe someday I will have to have a smaller setup and will use it for flowering. I really dig the results you get from the CFL's though!
Samson, CFLs don't have the lumen power of HIDs, so the yields will be less. 400w CFLs will grow awesome plants with good buds and yields if your grow doesn't exceed 3-4 plants, with medium heights. You could grow up to 10 plants with similar results if you were using a 400w HID. The bud quality will be the same, only you'll yield more with a HID because you can flower more plants in the same area. The best yield I've had was 6oz from a 3 plant grow of NLxHZ using 300w CFLs. Haze isn't know for being a large yielder either. CFLs are great for personal grows, not for production.

Hi Samson,
The plants are flowered in a space thats 3' x 1.5' with a height of about 5'. Its lined with mylar and I made a reflector with cardboard and mylar. It ain't pretty, but it works just as good as the commercial ones.

People on a budget have to wise up and use the compact floros. Mine are just the 25 watt kind and they cost only 2.60 dollars each. I get a chrome fixture with 3 sockets for 15 bucks at wallmart. For 8 bucks each there are larger 50 watt spirals. I like the ones that have the reddish hue but the blue ones veg great to so any of them work well IMHO.
After all these plants are rootbound and sour bubble is one of my light hogs like bogbubble. BOG
I havent tried flowering with them yet but but 50's of the reddish hue could do it well I am certain.
Thats a real nice veg cab BOG. The reddish hue ones are what I use. If your at the store, there sometimes called warm white. Look for the kelvins, red is 2700k and blue is 5500k. I like using the 42w reds for flowering, but I also use them for vegging too. I pay $8 each at HomeDepot. The mylar helps significantly when it comes to reflecting light on the sides of the plant. It also helps to drop your lights below the canopy from time to time. The setup I have allows me to adjust my lights for ample coverage. Everyone gardener should know the plantscape changes daily when the growin is good and your lights should be flexible to accomodate the changes when using CFLs. Your CFLs must be close to your plants inorder to grow good bud.
