Letting water sit 24hr vs not?

Does it really make much difference? My tap is .07EC so fairly clean, I like to get as much tap water as I need for that watering and feed asap, before temp rises. In flower when I need more water/frequent waterings I drop a frozen bottle of water in res to bring it back down, but I'll only get two waterings out of my res so first one is always an hour out of the tap type thing

Is it just for people with hard water to do this? I know there is chlorine in my water (and fluoride), does chlorine measure on EC meter?

its to let the chlorine evaporate into the air
im not really sure how much chlorine effects the ec of the water and am interested in hearing what others say

also consider i grow in soil and dont want the chlorine messing wiht the soil microbes
/are you growing hydro?
to me, its such a minor thing i always let the water sit at least 24h before using it

Is there chlorine, OR chloramine?

Most municiples now use chloramine because its cheaper and does not participate out of solution as quick as chlorine...

So, chlorine you can air out for 24 hours...

Chloramine you have to filter it out...

solid information,man!
turns out my city uses chloramine
how long do you think it takes for it to off gas?
would a home Ro system filter much of it out
would it also help to run the RO water through charcoal type filter before use?

Not sure if chloramine can completely gas out...

We use the Tall Boy filters with the KDF insert to get the chloramine out...

Chloramine will react with organic matter and deactivate. Microbeman suggests adding molasses, a handful of dirt, an old shoe...

If you do a title search for 'chloramine' there's a thread detailing it. Really only needed if you are growing organic. That being said, if you use clean filtered water your buds will probably smoke better.

IMO, cheapest and fastest solution is: Sodium Ascorbate

"Approximately 2.8 parts of sodium ascorbate are
required to neutralize 1 part chlorine. When vitamin
C is oxidized, a weak acid called dehydroascorbic
acid forms."

Pound of Sodium Ascorbate (pure pharmaceutical grade crystalline powder) is less than $20. In my world (4-5 ppm chlorine) about a gram is needed to treat 20 gallons of water at a whopping cost of $0.05 with zero wait time (reaction is immediate).
