ok guys heres the deal i have a grow tent and i have had good results with it.
the problem:
A grow tent from the exterior looks like a grow tent ?

this isnt really cutting it for me anymore .i have my tent in a closet in my kitchen,,i want it to look like a basic shelf or cabinet, not a tent inside a closet:wave:

so here lies 2 options we have
1) buy a storage cabinet like the mills pride ones that are discontinued, make it look like a ordinary cabinet
2) build some kind of frame around my tent and make some sort of fake front to make it look not like a tent
I NEED THIS FOR UNDER 200$

my dimensions im looking for ideally are 2.3 ft X1.4 ft X 8 FT
i plan to segment it into a veg/flower area, but i have to have at least 5--8 foot in height with the other dimensions aprox
eeeep!! help :):hotbounce:headbange:rtfo:

Without knowing exactly what the rest of the kitchen looks like, I can only suggest to utilize that look to your advantage. Say you have cabinetry nearby or shelving, you can utilize this to your advantage by building something that looks similar. Even if it has no practical use, the main use is to distract and maintain stealth. A faux front with small shelves for spices, or pantry goods. Or even plain old faux cabinets that do not open, and hinge the faux front on magnetic locks so no snooping guests can access the innards where the real spices are! :)

I hope you are able to make sense of the quick ramblings, but the gist is build to what is already there. Utilize shapes, colors, and textures so the space can blend. If the space has access to it from another side, then you could even access from a hidden door in the back or side; leaving the front totally secure with no hinges or the slightest suspicions. The kitchen and cabinet section of your local hardware store with a sample of your current paint and materials to match will be very useful. Sincere positive vibrations on your build process.
Choose option 2, only because the mills pride cabinet requires building. Might as well build custom to the space if you are going to build. If you decide to get a mills pride cabinet; look into replacing the backing with something more sturdy and secure.

if we could get pics of your area it would be so much easier to give you advice. otherwise, i'd just go with building mock shelves or cabinets. make sure you make them easy to take down, haha.

I'm bumping this thread because I have been thinking the same thing. I love my grow tent, but as the OP said, it looks like a grow tent, or weird enough that it would be questioned if my landlord were to pay a surprise visit, god forbid.

I was considering putting my 24 x 24 x 64 tent into something like this, taking the inner measurements of the stealth cab into consideration.

I want to stick with plastic, as it will (in theory) be easier to cut vents and it's cheaper. My other thought is to DIY a cab, maybe out of soundproofing material if that stuff can be painted so it hopefully resembles furniture...

Anyone have any thoughts? Will too much heat be generated by doing this? I grow with CFLs, mainly because of heat issues and I'm terrified of being the cause of a fire.

Thanks for any advice, input, links :)
