HI, yes, just sitting and separating them from the buds atm, good amount of seeds (but i HATE the job of doing it lol )

@PANIKZ said he was back yesterday (friday) so hopefully up and running again this weekend. He'd been away for a couple of weeks.

cheers,
VG :tiphat:
thanks :) I assumed it was being re-designed or something, lol

I really hope the seeds don´t sell out too quickly -I´m still trying to scrape some cash together for a new grow.

I´d have enough money to spend had it not been for me getting covid ! I have to pay for all the meds etc myself and I couldn´t start the new job I had lined up . :(
But I´ll get there eventually ;)

btw RGS only accepts GBP notes, right?

the high from all of the Derg Corra girls after a couple weeks in the jar is spot on... potency seems on point even though i am mostly smoking small buds that weren't pollinated. Good harvest of seeds from all the plants and the new bodhi plant had the biggest seed count of all - big fat seeds too!

i'll let the seeds cure for another week or so and then think about a germ test and sending some pack in to RG

Excellent my friend. I appreciate you and your work!
I can't recall where, but if I recall correctly you were specifically mentioned (I think on another forum) for "micro" breeding but doing great things at that size/level. Not sure if that's your current scale or if things have changed. Micro is also a matter of perspective.
I tend to identify myself as a micro breeder/grower (Im really more of a pollen chucker). I think alot of great work can be done on a small scale, it allows for more focused attention to detail.

So will you be sending both the Bodhi and Derga seeds in? I can't recall, did you do isolated seed increases for each breeder or cross them together? or both?!

Anyways thank much!

I finally caught up in both threads!! Thank you for doing a repro on these @VerdantGreen Will the seed packs contain a mix of all the beans or are you separating the Bodhi’s from the DCC’s? The affect of the Lemon Thai sounds like what I have been chasing for the past year. Where will they be available at?

Thanks all, the majority of the seeds are going to be the two populations crossed together. thats what i wanted to do and it's also the case that i have a good amount of seeds from the 2 different bodhi females used... i used 2 of the old tested bodhi because i knew the seed yield is pretty low on that one.
got lots from the new bodhi which is great it's a winner and a looker and probably the best of the whole bunch There is a respectable handful of seeds from the 3 DC girls.
So atm i am thinking mixed packs of 12 seeds with 8-9 'crossed' seeds from the bodhi girls, and 3-4 from the DC girls.
VG
as for the 'days to mature' i would say most are going to be ready 60 -75 days i think 90 will be an outlier but certainly possible
@Jahaze has been running one of the S1s for 75 and it did look good for it.

Hi all, i'm hoping to send some advance packs of LT seeds in next week.
I grabbed a quick pic of the new Bodhi plant from clone, this seed mother has given the most seeds for the seedbatch and looks a bit more narrow-leaf as a clone

This is a bohdi LT plant from @VerdantGreen original s1 repro. Been growing this plant for a while indoors and decided to try her outdoors this season. She started off small and brought outside on June 1st at 41.6°N. After a few days adjusting to natural light she took off. She will be going into permanent spot in a greenhouse in the next week.

Looks amazing @Jahaze ! - looks like it is going to enjoy the outdoors.

(this is the 'old' bodhi plant that is one of the two primary seed mothers of the m/f repro)

I always love to see the plants expressing themselves outdoors... and i think that some warm weather definitely brings out the narrow-leaf traits in plants, especially the LT.
It was cooler when i did the repro and now it's warmed up i'm finding the clones of the LT plants are looking more narrow leaf as they veg up.

Hey, been awhile. Do you have an eta on when the Lemon Thai will be available at RGS?
Thanks!
hi, i sent them today and they should be there tomorrow morning and hopefully listed up soon after that, small germ test was fine.
these first packs have 15 seeds. each curated to contain 5 seeds from the new bodhi seed mum, 4 from the old bodhi that i made S1s from, and 2 seeds from each of the DC girls.

Cool. Thanks.
I really like the idea of that mixed pack, never heard of anyone doing that. Very interesting!

Thanks, it makes sense.. having gone to the trouble of using 2 populations to increase the diversity.. - to make sure each pack contains seeds from all the different mothers etc. tbh it is a pita to pack them up but it means everyone has as diverse a seedpack as i can manage. Its the second time ive 'curated' the seedpacks in a release (first was the Ahmar).
They should go up at RG early next week, hopefully Monday

I had assumed that your seeds would be just from one line when I began looking into lemon strains and started following this thread. Not sure why.
Genetic diversity is always a good thing imo But this also raises a few questions for me.

If the seeds are mixed up in the packs how will we know for sure which is which when we grow them and maybe try and make our own seeds ? This raises so many questions for me.
For example - Is one of them a better bud producer, or does one of them have a stronger lemony grow scent and the other a more `skunky´ one, etc .

Btw I just can´t seem to find the shipping costs on the RGS site. I keep looking but...
Do you happen to know how much they charge for shipping to the continent?

Hi @Cuddles , all the seeds are Lemon Thai, so they are all one line (originally released by Dutch Flowers,) but i have combined 2 different reproductions of the LT from different sources because this should reduce any problems with inbreeding ( seeds reproduced by someone else purely from the Bodhi release were showing too many fasciated plants which points towards genetic bottlenecking. )
So when you grow them you will be growing Lemon thai and you will be able to choose any of your favorites to make new seeds and continue the line and they will still be Lemon Thai... but the way i have curated the seed packs should mean you have the maximum diversity to choose from.
The Lemon scents from the plants did have subtle variation but were all quite similar.. The high was even more uniform across all the plants regardeless of structure variation. you should see a little variation between narrow leaf plants and broader leaf plants just like i saw in both the Bodhi and the DC lines... with the Bodhi ones leaning more to narrower leaves.
So i guess the short answer is that you don't need to know which LT plants the seeds are from, you will just know that you have seeds from all the different LT mums in the pack and so your plants should represent the diversity within the line.
Not sure about shipping costs at RG but i will try and find out.

My last order from them, early March.
thanks . :)
After reading your post I thought that there could be a difference when sending in cash BUT -
I just checked the royal mail website and it says that international standard shipping is 2.50 but tracked mail is indeed 7.90.
Some mail services in other countries have different prices for letters and parcels but the royal mail doesn´t seem to offer this type of thing. 7.90 is a LOT for a letter, isn´t it?
The royal mail was never cheap but the exchange rate s*cks so ... yikes 🤪

for anyone else wondering about this - RGS only sends tracked orders for international customers.
