legality of outdoor grows in los angeles county

Hey all! happy to be back after a 14 month siesta... my girl and I have been moving into and renovating our new home, so I just now got time to get a good grow going!:biggrin::biggrin:

My house is in LA County, and I'm lucky enough to have a huge backyard for the area (1/4 acre, terraced up a hill). I love the house, but I'm not gonna lie, one of the main reasons I love it is because its perfect for growing my medicine.

On to my question - I just popped 3 seeds (blue satellite 2.2) in anticipation for my outdoor grow. I am a legal medical user with license and am allowed to grow up to 6 flowering plants and 12 vegging plants.

I have a pretty awesome tent setup, 2x4 x 8 high, with 600watt light and all that stuff... but since I have a perfect yard and not as much indoor space, I really want to grow this outdoors. My only problem is, I know its legal for me to grow indoors, but is it legal for me to grow outdoors on my own property?

Like I said, will be max 3 plants (less after I cull the males), and they wont be humongous or anything since its already late June... but I dont want to take any chances.

even if my neighbor sees it, is there anything they can do, short of stealing it or contacting the FBI/DEA? it will not be visible from the street.

thanks all, so excited for this! :tiphat:

The first thing I would do in a garden in LA is throw up a SF Giants sign.....Not much help I know but good luck.

Here in the bay area I can grow the same amounts. I would check the LA city rules on cannabis. The only rule I have here that differs from state law is my garden can't be seen from the street by law. Something I wouldn't want anyways, but the law does state that. Also, I think it is 6 mature plants "OR" 12 immature plants, not "and".

Here you go. http://www.lanorml.org/

Edit: wrong address http://www.canorml.org/medical-marijuana/local-growing-limits-in-california

City of Los Angeles
On May 22, 2013 the voters of LA approved Measure D, which allows three-patient collective grows by patients or designated primary caregivers. No plant limits are stated; using the state guidelines, 18 mature plants for a three-patient garden would be permitted.

So for each script, you can have 6 mature plants is sounds like, up to 18. Good luck.

ah sorry I didn't think to check NORML first - thanks for the link! yea I figured it would be a 'not visible from the street' deal... I'm overly paranoid though, maybe someone else more familiar with LA city laws can reaffirm this. I have a good thing going for me, last thing I need is to lose it all for a few plants i could have grown indoors...

haha and as far as the sign goes - my girl and I are partial to my NE Patriots sign ;-) I know, I live in CA, but hey you can't ignore your roots. Even if the weather there sucks. :freezing:

The Pats are a good team also. I played baseball with Tom Brady and my buddy has the all time touchdown and yards record at Serra High School with him. My buddy was a wide receiver. Tom was a goofy dude.
