helou everybody, time for some update, I manage to take some nice pics. Hope you will like them :)

The girls are now in 12 days of flowering. here are some pics,

All 4 pics are from led room, when I need to take some pics in hPS room, my digital camera said, please replace the batteries :) Maybe later I will go to take pics from HPS room too.

I'm still watering the girls with the nuts for veg, and I think they like it :)

Have a nice day everybody

what are you using the halogen lights for? those led ladies are lookin nice, but not as nice as hps ladies. once you get those leds to blink, you should make another video so i can see what that looks like. keep on keepin on!

Frankly, I am fascinated by LEDs for growing as I see they will be the future, especially for small grows. I was hoping some of you knowledgeable fellows in this thread could help me out with my thoughts:

Photosynthesis is most pronounced in the red (600-680nm) and blue (380-480nm) wavelengths of light. High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting is designed to cover these specific wavelengths, known as the PAR spectrum (photosynthetically active radiation).

I am using a 250w HPS, as a rough figure, lets say it produces 25000 lumens. Now, of course, only a portion of that light output is of the wavelengths the plant requires for photosynthesis, again as a rough figure, lets say 50%.

So, if only 50% of the lumen output is of the PAR spectrum my 250w HPS is producing 12500 useable lumens.

So does this mean that an LED array producing 12500 lumens, all of them within the PAR specturm will have equal performance to my 250w HPS?

How many LEDs would be required to produce 12500 lumens of the correct wavelength? Roughly how much would a LED setup like this cost?

Does anyone know the actual percentage of light from a HPS that is of the correct spectrum for photosynthesis?
