LED Test Grow

For several years, I have been investigating and working with LED grow lights. I have been very disapointed in the quailty and output. (for the review on this LED lamp click here)

With the invention of the 3 watt LED, the future is going to change for growers.

*days in 12/12 = 26
*media = potting mix with added perilite, earth worm castings, topped with bat guano high N and high P.
*magnesium supplied = epson salts.
*micro nutrients = peter's professional 20/20/20.
*strain = unknown, possibly Subcool Astro Boy.
*grow style = mini bush in 6" containers.
*lamp = Diamond Series - Extreme 3w LED Technology 200W

This is the first grow with this new lamp. So at this point, it is anyones guess how this will end. Intially, I am extremely pleased with the results. The reduction of heat and stress from HID is proving the biggest advantage. The plants seem to love that. One other value is there is no IR detectable heat signature.

I tried to get pics of the two different stages of this lamp, but the differences did not show.

Looks good, very good, I researched that brand, glad to hear it is all they said.
Most all the other brands have that 120 degree beam angle to give exaggerated footprints, not enough intensity to grow.
The diamond series has 90 degree lens, physically doubling the density of photons hitting the target. I am a numbers guy, but real world and numbers don't always match.
But this grow is matching the brochure brags, cool, this is one to watch.

Prices seemed quite reasonable on the site I checked out, maybe I'll have to dig a bit more to find actuall wattages and prices.

I am currently running a grow in 2 gal pots with a 600w GrowStealth LED. The plants really loved the light in Veg and they are now 21 days into 12/12. Love the lower temps in the tent, they run about 5 degrees f higher than the ambient temp outside the tent. You've got a nice project here!

this looks very similar to my setup. how much big is that grow space? I'm definitely going to have that same light in late Jan - Feb this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it compares to my 250w HPS. I was leaning more toward the DS300

Ouch the 400w (360) is $995. Bulb mix looks spot on, just wish they stated what percentage of each.

I am using a Quantum Bad Boy HO T 5 (8 bulb= 432w). It covers 2 x 4. The trick is using aquarium bulbs which allows me to control spectrums < $450. Think LED without the high cost of LEDs.

All that said the small one seems like a bargain for stealth growers.

hi petflora

so are you still using the aquarium lamp/bad boy t-5 combo in a grow? do you have any links to more info on using them bulbs for mj, 1st time I've heard of that!

and finally, recommend a source to buy the bulbs online in the usa area... or are they easy to find online?

Wollyb. Sorry, I am not subed to this thread, so did not get an email regarding your question. I think if you goggle mj and T5s you will find some very interesting threads elsewhere. I had a really great grow going until my pH meter crapped out- it was still working but not reading right, and I neglected to calibrate it. I had massive amounts of really nice buds but the leaves all started to turn white (too much acid) killing the plant from the inside out. I solved the problem but lost probably only harvested 40% of what it would have been
