Heya BK, yeah ima starting the SWTC99 journal in the next few days. Today my tent goes 12/12 but ive had to segregate the boys from the girls, and atm the boys have a bigger team from the 5 seeds i popped. So my tent will only be half full until hopefuly the clones i took last night will be introduced in next few weeks.

Not me though. My worst fear with a bust is losing my quite expensive light collection. Hopefuly that wont happen because absolutely no-one knows about my hobby

Yeah mate the only way to get caught is word of mouth. What idiot leaves that much cash sitting around as well? I would be burying it or turning it into bullion or something and stashing it; almost the worst thing he got caught with.

Heres a couple more pics of the cab grow.
Have some root problems with one plant, had stagnant water collected from runoff which the roots pigged out on. Now the leaves have all yellowed and fallen off lol. Still making bud though, hope it doesnt affect it too much.


This is a bud on the yellow plant.



And this one was flipped on 10/12/10 Hope it doesnt do the yellow dance as well.
Has about 2 or 3 weeks left to run.

Nice set up there champ , Ive been currently using a 90 watt ufo I got from eBay and to tell you the truth it does the job for veg , Then for flower whack out the 400 watt hps .Now I'm having the fun of playing the waiting game for my plants to show sex

Heya JJS, the UFOs are good for veg, i found by placing a CFL with them it helps with the white light thats missing. But i reckon they work well, close internodes and lush growth. The noise of the fans bugged me so i removed some fans from one and added a fan speed controller to another, now they both dying a slow death and only pulling about 50W and dropping about 5W a week. So dont let them run too hot. Mine are ready for the bin when i remove fans and stuff. The move to serious LEDs allows me to look back at UFOs with a broad smile. My current journal grow will show the power of real LED technology

Yeah the new Led's are pretty neat , and especially with electricity not being cheap I can see why a few people are opting for them.
Ive got mine in a closet which has 3 plants which is pushing it however im prepared to wait a big longer .

I'm sure you have had a look at the LED section on the forums , hats off to verdant and the guys they really are showing everyone that LED's can do the job , though i do also respect the hps crowd , though as I have said before not everyone can pay massive electricity bills .

Look forward to seeing how you project goes , keep up the great work.

the only people pushing led's are sellers ive seen a ton of led grows with stolen 1000w hps pics from other sites on here

leds are shithouse (unless you like paper thin stringy buds)

sure they can be good in veg but when you factor in the ridiculous $$$$ and 9 outta 10 are just using cheap ass nasty electrics wired up they are crud

the big boys dont use them which is proof that you shouldnt either

I had used a ufo for veg then used a 400w hps for flower amigo , dont knock the LED if you haven't tried it , the proof is in the pudding. This was a Nirvana Bubblicious I had and she was the bomb to bad I didnt make a clone , but alas LED and HPS can co exist.

Hey jjs, the LED section was closed to posting a while back so nothing new has been posted afaik.
We are on about 22c KWh so skimping on power is important to keep the bill down to manageable level. Heat output is an equal reason to go LED, especially if your growing in confined area like your closet.

Sorry we can be as extravagant as some , at the end of the day you smoke weed and get high , If you want to pay mega bucks for beans and still rave on how awesome they are good luck. Budget beans get you baked like the expensive ones.

Nirvana have some awesome seeds and I unlike you have done research on their beans and reckon they are awesome.

Hermie gene? Haven't had that happen , perhaps you need to adhere to the method of not letting any light leaks , that's what us pro's do.

Not sure what breed this is, but with 2 weeks to run it should be very smokeable for a paper thin bud.



Ordering another light atm, im totally sold on these LEDs
That will be 2 for the tent, 2 for the flower cab and one for veg cab, now to get everything running smoothly and sit back and enjoy some grows.

Im still playing the waiting game for my plants to show their sex , im convinced 2 of the 3 I have are boys , but will wait a bit more .

Im gettin some more bubblicious beans because they are absolutely the best ive produced and a wiked smoke.

Paper thin bud man that thing is pretty dam sexy hehe , the next batch im going for trying 6 or so in my grow closet im pulling out the big guns lol.

Hey Clowd.

Dont worry about the yellowing mate if its getting towards the end of flowering, perfectly normal and common, actually the plant using its reserves of energy into the buds if I remember correctly.

Been doing a lot more research on leds, think the haters dont have a leg to stand on anymore, the technology is coming along fast and several companies are making quality units if you do your research. These companies of course also want good reputations and long term business so its in their best interests to start producing good units.

He has been doing test grows for a while, building his own units and in his last one using Cree XP-E Leds got 93 grams off 60 watts, first time he has had great success in beating a HPS I think; almost tempting to try and work out how to build your own unit with selected leds but I dont think I am that skilled :

Heya BK, thanks for the tips. I should have explained the root prob a bit better though. I cut 2 rows of 25mm holes about 10mm apart on the bottom outside edge of the bucket to try some air pruning id read about. But silly me placed this modded bucket inside another normal bucket. I lined the interior before adding soil with a weed mesh. The idea with the outer bucket was to retain moisture.
To lift the interior bucket so it wasnt in contact with the outer, i placed a cut off bottom of drink bottle of about 40mm. After about to weeks into flower the leaves were yellowing and there was a stale water smell in the cab. I clicked pretty early what the prob was, but alas, i could not lift plant or bucket because it was tightly grown into a solid cabinet fitted scrog. The weeks went by and about 1 week before cut i could smell stagnant water, which got me worried so i cut the outer bucket away and removed to find the drink bottle choc had collected some water and caused the smell. Just another learning experience which im sure are in plentiful supply with this hobby heh.
The ledgrow.eu bloke is making good headway. Great results with using the latest and greatest diodes, thats the key imo.

The LED haters can whinge all they want, soon we will start a LED ONLY Bud Shots thread. That will silence them ;-)

Hey thanks oldman, i welcome your good advice.
It amazes me people still view LEDs based on old technology. They might be the paid workers of bulb makers hehe
