Greetings all,

Thought id show a few shots of some LED buds at day 47. Not sure what strain it is but it looks like a keeper if i didnt have a scary bunch of seeds waiting to get wet. It has a clone of itself either side and another young clone in veg.

I have some Sweetest Cindy99 early in veg which i will document in their own thread. This thread is just to tickle the interest of others ready to dip their toes into the LED waters or just interested in what they perform like, me included as this is my first grow sort of.

There is 2x 110W panels made by hyrogrowLED in the US used in this cabinet. No problem shipping them in, but these lights are pretty dear. I managed to haggle 2x 126(110W) and a 63W(55W) for $1100 delivered.
Im waiting on some macro lenses for my camera, so there will be updates to come.
Temps are easily managed with these and i cant wait to start flowering some proven strains ala C99 and others.

The 180W lights are priced at around $510 delivered but use 3W LEDs which appear to work very well. The 120W he used are no longer available due to turning into UFos at around $393.

The lights i use have 1W LEDs http://www.hydrogrowled.com/126W-Penetrator-LED-Grow-Light-P45.aspx with more targetted wavelenghts, but im not sure which id buy if i had dicovered the 3W before buying.
Ive ordered a 200W cool plasma light that will be interesting to see how it performs against LED.

Their LED pricing and selection looks pretty good. Id go 2x 150W/3W LED if i was to buy again.

Cant wait to cure this plant, 3 weeks later i chop the one beside it and another 2 weeks and then the other side, by then hopefully sweetest cindy99 should be about day 35 flower. Im not paying for weed again and these LEDs i owe that to. :smoke:

Bit of an update, some pics with simple filtering.
The cool plasma is not happening after being jigged about and wasting nearly a month. Considering another LED to join the party now. Nearly every LED seller ive visited online in the last few days are claiming they have the best in the world with wild claims, its a minefield for the wallet.

hey mate am running 3x 180w leds in 2.8x1.4m tent and have 3x flower excellarator leds to go in for bloom...so will be interested to see how the leds go

They seem to be producing results far and wide nowadays. Im pretty impressed so far with this grow. Be sure to show us some results mattc!

will do... noticed last run crystals were better on leds but wasnt as agressive in the flower stage but now going strictly led whole run and have a tent now...brought them from pro source

I see HGL have a PRO version of all their panels using 3W LEDs now, might be time to add that extra ligh i need for my cindy99 grow coming up. :spank:

A bit of trimming and some drying yet, already smoked about half an oz before the final chop. :)

What medium you growing in? How many grams per watt?

I am curious about led's but I am not confident in buying with all the drama's about the quality of the make of the lights. I think one of those links you provide as well was one of the sites Ledgirl was involved in who was banned from these forums?

I might keep waiting for prices to come down I think :)

Heya BK, im using a soil mix in 9 litre buckets. The quality of the lights is not an issue, plug and grow. Its more the spectrum quality thats needs scrutinising. Its quite clear the penetrator produces results.
Yeah Cammie is the owner of one of the links above, regardless of the BS in this forum by skitso LED haters, i can vouch for the lights ability to produce bud. Its a shame really, but thats life, it wont bother me enough to not use half the power for the same result.
GPW is difficult with this grow for two reasons, one, i dont have any scales heh, two, i have 2x 110W lights in a cab and i have introduced 3 plants at about 3 week intervals. The above cut pic is the 1st to get chopped with this strain, id need to weigh it and eventually add up all three to get a result.
This one seems about 3.5oz plus ive been smoking bits off it for a while, while waiting for it to finish. I will be in a better position to state gpw with my upcoming tent grow with 5 sweetest cindy99 going in at the same time.
The price of the penetrator is expensive, but having to buy weed is also when you smoke like me.
I have a 3W LED penetrator Pro on order which is paid for by not buying shit weed from clowns.
But very happy with results so far, imo you cant go wrong.

Thanks Bundy, growing was easy with IC added to favorites. To be honest i dont think i would be growing indoors if i didnt stumble into IC 6 months ago or so.
But looking forward to my new 310W LED tent grow coming soon.
Might be able to grow enough to store some away for winter and turn the lights off for a while...
thats a pretty big might though :laughing:

LMFAO, yeah mate i hear ya thats my plan. But i know i will fail, wont be able to control myself with heads and plant numbers, i hate this hobby sometimes..... NOT ! hehehe.

Hey Clowd.

Yeah nothing better than growing your own no matter how your doing it, 95% of the time better bud than off the streets and no dealing with d*ckheads.

With constantly rising electricity prices here in Oz LED's will surely become more and more worth it, along with massive shelf life over HID's.

You should give us a full journal when you start your new tent bro, and get some scales.
