Led and HPS switch

Hello all,

I have searched the forums and haven't found anything quite specific to my situation but I think I may know the answer already lol.

Plants were vegged under 600w LED (actual ~300w and another light ~300) made the switch to 1000w DE HPS for flower.

Is this a problem or a good idea?

Also, would it be a problem to switch back to LED for small periods of time during flowering when the operation cannot be monitored just to avoid heat issues while gone.

I have a hunch this may be asking for a hermie situation but I am very curious to see some replies.

Posted this in another area with no luck and kinda new here so hopefully following the rules so far

Watch for heat stress going to the 1k. As long as ur flowering hours stay uninterupted, u shouldn't have any problems switching lights.

Thanks for the quick reply ... yes I am keeping a very close eye on the temp with the 1k, big change in heat from a LED.... averaging about 78f at canopy height or 27-28celsisus I think this is acceptable

Ur canopy temps are good. Light intensity is the main concern. I think most people run a 3' gap from bulb to canopy with 1k de's.
