Leaving town/ aerating nutes

Unfortunately, I have to leave my girls in the hands of my wife for a week. She is not exactly a green thumb. I am leaving ph balanced buckets of water and nutes for a water water feed schedule while I am gon.

MY QUESTION.

How long will the nute mixture be ok to feed my plants? Will it go bad?

I will have an airstone in there aerating the mixture...

Plants are in week 3 of flower and are drinking heavily. If I soak the pots (5gal) they pretty much drink it all daily. They could go every other day but no more than that.

Thanks

Come on guys give me something. I'm wondering how long my nutes will last pre-mixed in water if they are aerated?

Depends on what nutes ur using.... airstones raise ph keep that in mind... she probably wont check it.... i personally dont bubble my rez for that reason... but certain nutes need aeration. ... also some stay longer then others....

Me too . If I leave my mix for more than 2 days , it creates a film on top . ( canna A + B , no airstone )

I had that happen even overnight when I was using organic nutes and areating. I think that is a good sign in a compost tea? This run Im using Techniflora (I really like it). I think I trust her enough to measure the nutes and check the PH. I may not let the water sit and bubble after all. Im throwing DNA Sup Super Lemon Skunk three weeks into flower they already look sugar coated. Ill be devastated if anything happens to em while Im gone.

Yep i feel ya... but like kids they tough... just mix ya shit correct n don't stress... if they healthy n die in a wk they just not meant to grow. ... only thing that could really fuck them is a timer malfunction or ur wife being to concerned with the baby n forgets to water.... so stop worrying bout the nutes check ur timers explain to the wife that her n the kid will not have any food to eat if u fuk this up... i take it is a smaller grow... maybe slap together a large trash can, pump, on a timer. .. a small area is minutes to put together n

Like Stoney said, a trash can, and pump on a timer. Drip system can be had for $30-$40 at Home Depot.

That, or premix a bunch of gallon jugs, and leave detailed instructions on how much each container gets each day. Show her how to check the containers to see how dry they are, and to only water if they need it.

My wife is no green thumb either. But I had to go out of town for a week to work, and left detailed instructions with pre-filled gallon jugs. Came home and the wife did a great job while I was away.

Edit: I really like that grow space you have there. Nice high ceiling, and room to walk around the plants. Concrete walls and floors to boot, that really helps with temps.

On the first part of your response yes that is exactly what I'm doing. I think she can handle it. And on the second half of that thanks. We moved into a new place and I have that room in my basement it's awesome. A major step up from the cellar that I used to grow in with 5 1/2 foot ceilings. That was a real hassle. I really wish I could utilize the space and grow more than four plants. I'd sog the whole room. It's like 40' long x 9' tall. Unfortunately, where I am more than that is a felony.

Well I can't speak from experience but generally speaking its not good to leave water standing if you can help it. Ph values aren't locked in place. I've seen .5 shifts in standing water happen practically overnight.

The situation you face is a challenge for many growers you feel like you can't be gone more then a day or two at most away from your plants without something going horribly wrong.

If this is going to happen periodically you might want to try and make your wife become a trusted, competent grow partner. She might as well the risk for her is pretty much the same, so if she's allowing you to take the risk for both of you then there is no sense in letting the plants be at risk simply because you're not there.

Thanks hempcat actually I don't leave much when I grow however, when i do I do go over with her in detail what to to. She's not a grower but usually gets it right enough. It's kinda like leaving your kids with your parents. You do it better but the kids will be ok. As for the risk, doesn't that suck??? I grow 4 plants at a time do I don't get in big trouble IF I GET CAUGHT. I actually think I enjoy growing more than smoking. I smoke weed because I've had several hip surgeries and have all kinds of different pain as a result. The funny thing is (actually not so funny) I can "legally". Go get almost any hardcore opiate I want from a Dr. Who in my opinion is not much more than a legalized heroin dealer. I don't like opiates for my pain. The weed really does help. I don't "DEAL" my weed. I only sell it to about 3 different friends of mine all of whom have been pot smokers for about 30 years. They all have respectable businesses and great families and pAy a TON of taxes. None have any kind of criminal record, yet we have to sneak around to grow a fucking plant in our own homes to smoke it. ABSURD. Sorry for changing the topic of my thread your post just made me think.

No no, that's fine, I totally agree, growing would likely be so much easier and cheaper if we didn't have to sneak around. Sounds like you're about as safe as a grower can be. Small mostly personal grows aren't really on LEO's radar. You still have to be careful though, they could accidently stumble across you and you don't want any thieves finding you either.

Yea it would suck!!! I'd have to pay a fine I couldn't afford and i suppose I'd have to stop growing which I really love doing. I'm as careful as I can be without being absurd. But like I said. I'm not a dealer. No one comes here or even calls me for weed. I haven't sold a "bag" since college... Lol...it's a fun hobby but I think I'm a great grower. It's all about paying attention to details. That's why it's so hard to leave em. When it's legal here I really won't do it any different.
