Leaves have no vigor after transplanting but they fall just in the evening, why?

Hi

I have 3 LSD girls from Barneys. They were transplanted 2 days ago from 4 liter pots to 17 liters and after transplanting them, the leaves from two of my plants are falling a little and hang with no vigor.

This is happening just in the evening, im on a 18/6 light schedule and the lights are on from 7A.M. a clock till 1A.M. and around 9P.M. they start to hang with no vigor.

In the morning when lights turn on they are stronger and a little up and after 2 hours they are up and full of vigor but in the evening they are fallen down like yesterday.

I know that transplanting them is stressful for the plants but why i have problems with them just in the evening? They didnt stopped to grow, they are ok and growing like before but what could be wrong with them?

This is my 2nd grow,im no specialist but they have now 3 weeks and are healthy, very developed, im very pleased but i wonder why may cause that fall down of the leaves in the evening, seems strange to me.

Any ideas guys? Anyone can help me with an answer? Thanks in advance!!

some strains kinda get tired after a days full lighting. i used to have a power plant cutting which always did this at the end of the light cycle, then next morning they will be back to their healthy looking selves. im not sure why it happens but it does.

Thanks for the feedback, but they were ok all 3 before the transplant and now 2 of them have the problem i mentioned in the first post and one of two is more severe than the other.

The medium in the new larger pots is to dense, it needs more aeration in the roots. Plants need a small amount of oxygen in the root zone. If the plants grow toward or face the light that's a good sign. The sagging sounds like a problem with the roots not breathing enough. Is your medium possibly to dense? Especially now that you just re-potted. Did you over compress the medium? If and when you water with lights on, if plant sags then this is a sign of the plant drowning and not getting enough oxygen to the roots.

9pm:plants drowning from not enough oxygen to roots.
7am:plants have mostly recovered from lack of air.
9am:plants are well alive and growing.

9am-9pm:plants grow at normal rate.
9pm-1am:plants have had near all the heat and light they can take without all three; of more oxygen/air, water, nutrients. (Most likely getting the water and nutrients just lacking aeration in the roots to support a full day of sun.)
1am-7am:plants recovers for the next day.

I'm assuming your medium is wet and stays wet for now going to a larger pot. Also temps need to be below 85. Need to rule out heat and lack of moisture as the problems. Most likely not the problem because didn't happen to same plants in smaller pot in same room.

Hi

Yes it is possible that the soil from new pots is to dense. Before transplanting them i have made the space/hole in the soil of the the new pots with an empty pot of the size of the old ones to have the exact space needed for the transplant and the pressure applied with the pot could have compressed the soil, especially under.

The plant that have no problems at all indeed grows and bend towards the light. The one with problems but not so major, bends towards the light but not as much as the healthy one and the plant that have the biggest issue with no vigor and hanging leaves do not bend toward light at all.

Whats also new in the growing room is the fan, i didnt had any before transplanting, Also i lowered the light(250w MH) a little, the fan made this possible because the temperature dropped down so i thought its a good idea to do this.

I have a temperature of 26-27 Celsius degrees, thats about 78-80 Fahrenheit according to my converter. Also the humidity is 47%, is it optimal for veg period? I think it could be a little higher but i dont think my percentage is too bad.

Yes, my medium is wet now, i have watered well before the transplant and the new soil is also a little bit moist so i dont think i they have problem with the water right now, i also dont love to water them to often. I check the pots weight and when i feel they are light i water them.

So i think you where right and gave me the best possible scenario, lack of oxygen from the dens soil. Its a soil/perlite mix but maybe i could have thrown a little bit more perlite in there to avoid this.
This issue will resolve itself when the roots start to grow through the new soil or how can i remedy this?

Thanks for helping me out!!

Best way to fix is to pull the plants and re-pot. You can use same pot and same soil just keep it loose, if more soil is needed add it on top later on. The plant may grow out of it or may get worse no way to tell without just waiting it out.

You may have enough perlite but too soggy a soil. Let them dry out a little, the new soil won't dry out as fast since the're no roots drawing it out. When this happens to me and I want to speed up the soil surface evaporation, I use a fork to kind of sort of rake or till the surface. This increases the total surface area and it will dry out a little faster. They do this on baseball fields to dry out the clay after a rain. Running one's finger around the inside of the rim will allow the outer portion of the pot to breathe a little.

Thanks guys for the help! They are starting to get better.
The one with more problems was the plant in the upper right corner, she still hang a little bit in the evening but not as close as in the first 2 days.
The 2nd plant with problems was the bottom one and she recovered fully, she dosent hang anymore without vigor.
Today they have exactly 3 weeks, looking good? :)
