Leaves dying almost overnight

Last night I noticed the oldest leaves that haven't died started yellowing alittle. When I checked today after work another leaf has yellowed, but the ones that were just starting to yellow now have nearly died. I'm trying to figure out if its a deficiency or they are just dying since they are starved of light since the only leaves really showing yellowing are the ones that are down in the dirt post-LST. I don't think them dying overnight is a good sign, but as you can see from me holding back the leaves that cover them they are under some dense coverage and they are the worst effected ones. One younger 7 finger leaf has some weird discoloration on it but it looks the same as what I thought was the beginning of nute burn in it's early stages (if you've been watching my threads you probably know what I'm talking about). Keep in mind though I check daily and the yellowing only started appearing between Monday and last night, so they basically died in around 24 hours. Growth also seems somewhat slowed/stunted, so I'm thinking some N might help? The spread isn't as fast in younger leaves but hasn't stopped. I want to get this straightened out before I switch to 12/12.

Any idea what this is? This is the youngest leaf showing any discoloration/damage.

Btw soil is FFOF, last night I foliar fed Liquid Earth Grow & Vigor nutes (first feeding, started in MG Cactus and then into FFOF 2 weeks ago), hasn't shown any improvement.

What's your ph?

also dude, leaves in contact with dirt die off, least they always have for me.

mexilandrace is on to something, looks like some type of PH lockout. Water your plant with plain water until 10% runoff. Wait 30 min, give her some more, catch first 10 % that drains and test that, should give you an idea of what ph you are running.

What pH should I be aiming for? And with the test kit I got pH up and pH down, in a 1.25 gallon pot how much would I use to raise the pH up or down .1?

Soil is a little hot so just give her straight water. your leaves are very dark meaning they have plenty of N, just give her straight water. FF got enough nutes in it already.

I burn some of my plants with half FFOC half pro-mix(no nutes) and I dont give them any veg nutes,so imagine how nutes are in straight OF, I don't even go straight OF

Your FFOC should have enough nutes in it, no need to add nutes

All those dead leaves you pointed out are normal, they are just old leaves who don't get any light anymore because of the big fan leaves

Looks a little like some kind of nute burn to me. Just plain water for a while would be good.

i dont think its from the dirt, buried leafs die off, ones touching dirt dying ive never heard of.

Test your ph should be around 6.5 at runoff, lower it by PHing your nutes & water before you add it, only if in extreme cases do you need additives like lime and all that stuff

I'm out of ideas, the pH is almost normal now, I've foliar fed the nutes it needs, I've sprayed with insecticide and fungicide, and I've watered it when the pot feels empty again. After all this the problem just keeps getting worse and worse, it matches the description of leaf blight but Serenade hasn't done a thing for it.

you have a lock out

it will take a few waterings before you see an improvement, The best thing for you to do, is get your ph lower, find the ph of your medium, and when you add your nutes, water, etc, that your ph is lower than that

ie. I use promix HP right now, ph is buffered @6.5
The nutes I have are buffered as well, so it mainly stays at 6.5
I have a couple additives that will drop it to about 5.9. I water at that.

MJ likes it best from about 5.9 to 6.3, so I am right in there when my promix ph is 6.5 and my nutes solution is 5.9

If I were to guess your ph is too high, thus locking out quite a bit, it might be ok now, but you still have to wait for your plant to get better.

Get rid of the bad leaves, they will not get better

Wouldn't the foliar feeding allow the plant to get its nutes even if it can't get it through the soil?

I still say this plant looks burned from over feeding. Try repoting the plant in fresh FFOF soil & carefully remove some of the old soil without damaging the root system. Maybe use a slightly larger pot. Then don't give any feeding for a couple of weeks at least. There are plenty of goodies in new soil so they won't need to be fed. I've seen plants recover nicely after doing something like this.
Good luck mate!!

nope.. stop feeding all together for a week or two

They look nice and full

Without tip burns, and it happening only in the middle of the plant, I seriously doubt it is nute burn

Flushed with pH balanced water up until today and the new growth is real strong. Thanks so much for your help =)
