Hello everyone, im really in trouble right now with my seedlings because they have started drooping then dying from the bottom leaves up, but its only maybe on the 2nd set of leaves- by the way this is only plaguing 3/5 of my plants. Ive also noticed that there are brown spots which form all around the leaves before they dry up and die. They are under a 250w hps, watered every3-4 days with biobizz grow in the concentration of 8ml per 4l of water, they are in 8inch pots, just repotted yesterday- no signs of stress due to that. They are in a poorly ventilated cab for the moment, but i have bought and assembled materials to setup a ventilation system. Il be using a 85 cfm fan for a 2x2x3 flowering chamber and a 2x2x2 veg cab. The temps are normally around 72f during the day- however they probably get alittle colder at night because the room itself isnt insulated, at the lowest it would go to maybe 65f, humidity im not to sure about. They are being grown in promix- with nothing else. They are watered with tap water that is left out to evaporate additives. They are all unknown strains because of the fact that they are bagseed. Im not sure what other info i can add but if theres anything missing just tell me. Any help would be greatly appreciated- Thanks alot guys!! hope to hear from you soon.

seedlings do better under a flouro rather than a 250 w light. i had them under a 1000 watt and they did the same thing but they are no longer with us RIP.

the soil has nutes in it for up to 3 weeks but a lil nute wont hurt just dont over water them right now and try to get some fresh air in that cab when you can alittle air is better than none good luck

wait a week or two.
stop the biobizz, there is enough in the soil for 2 good weeks of veg.
promix really is promix, don't really need ferts so early. just try to flush ur soil a bit. i had some nute lockout and overwatering problems on this run, see my gallery to see how they are turning out. 3 weeks till chop
:)

so when should i throw it under the hps?

When they have 2-3 real nodes - now. Keep them a ways away and adjust closer each day until they look like they';re getting too much light.

You should investigate adjusting the ph of the fert water after mixing to 5.8 to 6.0. You would use an acid or base. Homestyle ph adjusters are in my signature. Have you tested soil ph? Directions are in my signature below.

There is nothing wrong with using the hps for your plants now.

Im not sure what a rapid rooter is- i germinated all of them in paper towel in a tupperware on a router. 3/5 of them were placed in pots with soil and the other 2 in "jiffy pellets" ? Thats what the guy at the hydro store called them, theyre like little disks that expand when you put them into water, with mesh around them. They might infact be rapid rooters. But only 1 of the 2 rapid rooter ones is suffering, the other one seems to be quite healthy. Im just wondering if i should clip the drying leaves, atleast the ones that are completely bone dry- because they are pretty much beyond hope of revival no? Or should i just clip the parts of the leaves that are completely dried up?

i would only feed every other water but lightly at this young age. I am pretty sure there is noferts in promix unles it is fortified but most of them are a pure soiless medium with no ferts in them. Unless there is something i dont know???? possibly a conspiracy???

so does anyone have any advice as to what i should do about the dried up leaves? Should i cut them off or just let them fall off?

cut off leaves! I would not water until your soil dries out completely! And then when you water... don t drench the soil. Water small seedlings with spray bottle or just pour in enough water to wet about 4 inches of the soil!

Alright guys this is an update, alot has happened over the past little while, ive LST'd all them, and one is in flowering in the bottom room of my cabinet. Tell me what you think, oh and id also like to mention that im extremely happy and lucky about the fact that i got 100% females from bagseed!!!:D

Pics in gallery

The one that is in flowering has been in 12/12 for maybe a week now, im not expecting much from it cause its only under a little over 100w of cfls, and it is bagseed, the other two have been vegging under hps for maybe 3-4 months now and they are being fed with Bio-Bizz organic nutes, and potted in Pro-Mix. Tell me what you think! :D

so your vegging with HPS and flowering with the cfl???? It should be the other way around. YOu want to use the HPS for flowering. Thats some crazy veg time, but they look good. Good luck hope it turns out well.

and for your information as i posted earlier on this post and said pro mix does not have ferts.... well I was wrong it is not listed on the bag but I found out that there is a small amount of ferts. It is around 1.3 to 2 ec. Heres to knowledge. :woohoo: :woohoo:

no dont worry lol, i do understand that i should be vegging under cfl and flower hps but the only reason right now is because im setting up a place to clone the two on the top and then im gonna flower them and the one in the veg section was gonna go in the trash otherwise so i figured it would give me something to do while i was waiting for a clone room to be setup. So its more of an experiment than anything, oh p.s this is my first REAL grow, dont know if ive mentioned it yet so maybe i should get extra props or something cause im pretty proud. :D

well i think il have enough, thats something im constantly considering and thats why im LSTing cause im paranoid of not leaving enough space for them to grow upwards during flower. I have about another foot and a half, maybe 2.

Sorry OT but do you know how to upload photos to your gallery here at IC mag? Once in your gallery you can put them in your posts for all to see. I'd bet it's safer to be putting pot pix here than Photobucket!

Ventilation is a must. That will alleviate alot of problems.
