Leaves curling down?

Hey guys,
My plants are doing something weird. The shade and primary leaves are growing normal, but the bud leaves or sugar leaves are curling downward. I have had this happen before on some blue berry I grew. Any tips or pointers would be helpful.

dont know why they would curl down. that is if you mean curl down in a bad way, but they normaly do though. i woud worry if they started showing signs of some deficiency, other than that, a lil curlin aint neva hurt nobody!!!

does it look like a claw? usually my fan leaves will claw and it is definitely a deficiency of some sorts.

If there was a deficiency or pH problem, wouldn't he have problems like yellowing and dieing leaves? Or spotted leaves of some sort?

I was under the impression the leaves curl/droop a bit when they need water? Or is it after they get watered?

Ph is good, using RO water but I did a test it just in case.
might be genetic, all three are doing it.
Here are some pics.

hi keithd2k,

your plants are very healthy and the buds look delicious. Good job.

Assuming that your PH is correct and meets your medium requirements (soil/soilles), then any hooking up or down is related to a micronutrient missing.

Most times is Ca since the rest micro elements have distinctive effects.

Give em lots of P and K.

More P at early flowering for producing buds, more K at late flowering for developing them.

Still, i wouldn't touch anything with this grow. Seems you're doing a fine job.

Good luck

The most common reason for 'the claw' on fan leaves, where the tips curl under is not a deficiency, but an excessive amount of nitrogen.

The original poster's plants look fine to me, but it is only my opinion...

i was under the impression from first glimpse of this thread ya meant the sides of the leaves were turning down which is from a lack of oxygen at the root level. but you got a clear burn here like a couple of sharp eyes pointed out. also, at this stage of the game you can severely cut back on nitrogen.

correct.

those leaves will never uncurl, but new leaves should stop doing it. i bet your leaves are extremely dark green as well :rasta:
they will carry on fine, its just telling you it doesnt need anymore N for the moment.

Sounds like over fertilization. I got this chart from the user "shithappens". It comes in handy when you have a question about deficiencies. Here ya go! Good luck!

Go with bassmechanic's theory, I assume you're about to see a little discoloration at the tip of those curled leaves..

If you don't change the feed regiment and the colors of the leaves stay the same I would leave em alone and not worry about it. I don't mind a little subtle burn that doesn't progress.. That just means you're literally feeding as much as you can without causing damage - walking the line if you will.

Just keep watching em, and make sure you know what you're doing when you do it for comparison!

Yes, the leaves were very dark green but after the several days of just RO water, the water is not colored when it drains into the pan. new growth leaves look lighter in color and it stinks way worse now for some reason "good stink".
When should I start nutes again?

start em when you want, now you know when you're over feeding. Sounds like you caught it on time.

What are they in, and what are you feeding em?

3.5 Gal pots 1/3 peat humus 1/3 pearlite 1/3 vermiculite.
RO Water.
Botanicare pure blend pro bloom 1 oz per gallon every other day.
Botaniare sweet citrus 20 ml per gallon w/nutes.
BC nutes bloom boost 20ml per gallon once a week by itself. says you can go 20 ml per liter but thats nuts.

maybe cut down the nutes by 15-20% and continue with that regiment.. bump em up once in a while and then see how they do.. Look around on the boards, a lot of folks use that stuff.. I'm sure you can get recipes people are using and compare strengths..

I had been at 2000ppm from veg till a couple of weeks ago (im on day 29 flower) then I started to show burn..so I turned it down to 1400, now I'm back at 1600.. So just keep watching em as you make the changes.. I'm using peat/verm/perlite w/ lime and feeding with Floralicious, FloraNova Bloom and also using MaxiCrop Bloom.
