wondering whats causing my plants to look like this, is it because they are under some heat stress and are transpiring to stay cool and thats why they are acting like this, or is it nute burn (which i doubt) or what? thanks in advance
the temp isnt bad at all, its around 80 degrees during the day, so really dont feel like they are frying but who knows, its under a 1000 hps with a glass cover to block out heat a little, the nutes ive been using are ej bloom for the past few weeks, and i water every other day ( they need it, they dry out quick in the ff ocean soil), hope that helps makes things clearer
Okay, anyway as the burnt buds are not only on the top but also at the bottom, I would rule out the heat issue. Leaves are falling but not enough to sign a root problem...
My best guess is overfert. Do you flush your soil with enzyms from time to time to prevent salt build-up ?
check out the very first thread at this forum (can. infirmary) and look at the picture of Phosporus def./overfert. suffering plant.
It is quiet similar to yours, but your plants are yellowing from tops, if I see it right, which may be really a sign of heat burn/light burn... what is the distance between the bulb and your plants tops?
well i have plants that are less than a foot, or lets just say a lot closer than this one even thought hey are a different strain, i would say around 2 feet. and i always move them around so that they arent in one place for a long period of time, so i really dont feel its heat either, there are a few other plants with the same sypmtoms they are just not as sever
plus ej is high in phosphurus so i wouldnt be surpirised if it were a overfert problem
az- i flushed them once with low nutes, never though with enzymes, i never heard about it, but ill start doin it from now on, what kind of enzymes you use and do these replace nutes for that one watering?
..btw what I know from my experince when I was running bubbler, plants are
using/up-taking less nutes late in flower.... so if you are giving them still same strong if or even stronger and stronger it could be the overfert very probbably... but I don´t know how many weeks are they on 12/12 and whether they are finishing soon...
The bloom fert is low in micros I bet. I think you should give them a dose of microblast. This is the fert company your using version of a micronutrient suppliment. You can maybe find something like high yield iron with other micros included at a local garden center. I can give you a rate if you find that. Old 20-20-20 or similar you might could use once to boost chelated micros. Also, your bloom fert lacks calcium and magnesium. You should add 1/4 teaspoon of both powdered gypsum and epsom salts per gallon of water every third fert along with the bloom food. When soil supplies run low, add the cal mag with every watering. Adjust fert water ph to about 6 after adding everything. This prevents ph surprises. Do you know your soil ph? Directions for testing are in my signature below. You may get excessive yellowing of lower leaves if nitrogen is completely left out of your fert program.
That's just me but when I'm in soil I only feed my plants with nutes one time then two times with just plain water. And every week or two weeks with enzyms and humic acid that will help absorb the residual nutes and break down salts ...
Too few nutrients is far better than too much IMHO
i dont know the ph and dont cant even afford to get test srtips let alone meters, i would needs some time to find out, would also need some shit to make some ph up and down
, im all broke and fucked up right now, but ill get crackin on it
i could give them a nice dose of some pure blend bloom or pure blend pro or something, and ill start adding in some salt and gypsum, i couldnt even afford a thing of micro nutes right now anyway
I can't believe noone has even mentioned pH. You can add all the shit you want to the soil......if the pH isn't right.....you're just going to fuck things up worse for the plant by way of nutrient lock-out.
I think, from the pics and the info you gave, that the plants are badly intoxicated by overfertilization or some salt accumulation in the soil. I would flush the medium very well and start with a milder feeding solution. Repeat flushing at 10 days intervals.
