Leaves are dooping, and growth seems to have stopped?

Ok I have been watching my plants that are 2 weeks old lately and I have noticed that they are drooping heavily when I came home on Saturday, they looked like they needed some water, so I gave them some, I use purified water I get in 1 gallon jugs at the store, don't know if this has anything to do with it, being someone kind of buildup from the water.

SO I watered them, the next day nothing changed, Monday nothing changed, Tuesday nothing changed, they just seem to have stalled, no growth whatsoever, and the leaves are like curling downwards toward the stalk. I know it isn't underwatering, and I am pretty sure I ain't overwatering, because I water them about every 4 to 6 days. I am just stuck on what is going on, I have been meaning to get them outsidfe by the end of the week.

Note: I am currently using Miracle Grow soil for the start of them, I have A couple bags of Fox Farmn ocean foest, And Happy Frog soil for when I put them ouside, it was being used for my first batch of seeds I got from Seed Botique, but In trying something new I killed all of them, and am still very disappointed in myself, so I had to save what I had and use Miracle Grow. That might be the cause, but they grew very nice and quick the first 2 weeks, bow have just seemed to have stalled.

Oh and I am growing bagseed of some Mids smoke. Oh and one more thing, the single big leafe that is first to grow, is starting to yellow badly on all of them, which I know is normal, but is this any indicator that i might need to feed them, which is Pure Blend Grow, the reason asking is being in Mriacle grow soil it feeds for quite a while.

Anyways any advice would be superb, and I am going to try to get access to a camera so i can give you guys some pics. I kno I say this on every post because you guys ask but I will try this time.

The def need a feed, I would give them a feed next watering. I'd say a feed will sort them out.

So this is an outdoor grow? I would say over or under watering because of what you decribe. Do you water til you get run off? If you're sure its not, Maybe they need a transplant because the roots could have become rootbound in 2 weeks if it's a smallish pot/bag...
Are they in pots? What size?

Grownz!! How are you? Check my grow diary out!

I think Grownz may be right. They need some nutes, BUT I would go easy on them. Use 1/4 to 1/2 recommended dose the first time. If organic, maybe topdress with bat guano , or make a tea from bat guano. Bat Guano has some of its nitrogen readily available.

How is the color of the leaves? what do the leaf edges look like? It's normal for those first leaves to die.

Right now they are inside under a sunblaze flourescent setup, and are in solo party cup 16 oz, all the leaves except the 2 single leafes are all green. But all the newer leaves that have grown out, which aren't that big are like curling toward the stalk, hard to explain thats why I need pics, will have by sunday. I do think they need tranplanted very soon though being the soil has compacted to about 60% of the cup hieght, which is pretty low.

What size pots are they in and what do you have for lights. Its probably time to give them some food. Start them on 15 mil of PB per gallon of water. The PB is good because it isnt a strong fert. You do have to make sure you are not soaking them.

when I notice drooping leaves that are not corrected by watering, it usually means its time to transplant for me. After the transplant and a watering, the leaves pick back up and growth returns to normal.

Best of luck

Hey there
First JJ is the expert here OK? I like his advice and have read many of his posts!

Here's my thoughts for what they are worth

16 oz cup compacted to 60% of cup height? Those plants are, effectively, in an 8 oz cup. I'd bet those plants are rootbound. If your soil is too heavy and possibly not draining well....then soil compaction is even more of a problem. Water doesn't soak evenly into compacted, dry soil. Sometimes some spots get soaked while a lot of the water runs right through fissures, and other runways through the soil. You've got to get them transplanted...soon IMO and into a GOOD soil mix

I converted my grow on the link below to soil from hydo(which I was f**ing up). My plants immediately THRIVED!!

I went to the organic sticky for beginners(me) on soil mixes. I basically followed one of the recipes there. They are pretty good. I modified it a bit, but then I have many years of experience growing other plants. One of the keys is make sure your mix is light and drains well. My mix is about 40% perlite. And don't pack your soil too tightly in your new pot. You're not preparing a road bed :joint: I just tamp my soil just enough to force any air pockets out....cause you don't want those...and that's all. Watering will cause it to settle some. It's just like everyone and every book, etc. says: Light, well drained soiled with decent nutrients will grow damn near anything.

Visit the threads on proper watering. It's easy to water wrong. Watering is far more than simply pouring water in the pot till some comes out the bottom.

Those recipes in the begginers sticky are simple to make and will work for you...and they aren't expensive. You don't need Fox Farms soil or Promix. The local nursery uses Promix, but wont sell it. So I used what another nursery uses for starting many of their plants...and sells. $7.99/bag (1.5 ft3) I think the specs are on my grow thread. It looks like promix to me. So you don't have to use the fancy brand name stuff. Keep it simple, but make it right. I plan to have some good bud 3rd week or so in June. You can do it tooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck

I just put my 4 girls in these 4.5 gallon "pots" this evening. These are the two taller ones.

This is what wilt from lack of water looked like on mine this evening. Plants were fine when I went to work. I come home and this is what they looked like. I transplanted them, etc. Blow it up full frame(I have to click twice on it). Leaves are nice, green, and unblemished, but see how droopy, and how they curl under ? Yours look like that at all?

I agree with Guerilla. I've dealt with droopy leaves before and all they needed was water and they perked up right over night. I was going to say that if water didn't do the trick, and seeing that you are in 16 ounce cups, that the roots need more room to grow.
