so yea, the leaves are curling up and takes the shape of a taco shell. Any ideas what it could be? They are not discolored or damaged in any way. They are just rolling up. Sorry i dont have any pics. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey dude. friend had the same problem, I believe. Plants looked healthy and green but they were curled, like a 'taco shell'. lol.

My belief was heat stress. He raised the light and.. Well, before i could see if that was it, he had to scrap the grow.

Could heat stress be affecting your plants? I'd like to see someone else chime in so i could know too.

Hey thanks for the input, but i dont think it is heat stress. I have a 400w Hps with a cool-tube about 8'' away. Temps are always around a steady 75-77 degrees F. I did have the light closer about a week and a half ago, it was probably about 4-5'' away and i thought that was what was causing it so i backed it off to the 8''. Any other ideas what would be causing it? Maybe fert burn or somthing? Not enough ferts? I am totally stumped on this one. It doesn't seem to be harming my plant in any way. My buds are growing FINE.

not necessarily heat stress, but probably a low humidity issue. This is the plants way of trying to slow the pace of moisture loss through the leaves.

So should i put a bowl of water in the room? I dont have a humidifier. If i put a large bowl of water in there, will i beable to notice a differance in a week or 2?

taco leafes are either a sign of moisture stress as others have said(low RH, high heat, lots of radiant heat from the bulb) or a Mg def(!).

What nutes are you using?

I have seen mine do it with too much nitrogen. Used my veg soil recipe (by mistake) when repotting them for flower mode. I use worm castings so it doesn't burn them but they were super dark green and all new growth (only new growth) was curled like a taco shell.

Got any pics?

audibleillusion,

if the edges of the leafes are curling upward, its either moitures stress or Mg def.
If they are curling downwards(claw), its an N overfert.

Cannabis needs a lot of Mg, more than other plants, nutrient formulated for plants in general won't have enough Mg to satisfy cannabis needs, you need to supplement Mg in for of Epsom salt for instance.

1/4 teaspoon per gallon next watering,m see what happens.

mace

Ps: Mg def is the most common nute def on cannabis ;)

Get some Calmax for Mg problems and vent your box a little more for the heat issues
I would say its a heat issue in your case
