Leaves and stems appearing where preflowers should be.

So this bagseed plant has a weird problem.

Its in veg and just reached sexual maturity but it doesn't seem to be female or male, or doesn't have male or female preflowers. It seems to just be growing extra branches right where preflowers should be showing first signs of sex.

I've searched around the net for this issue but cant find anything, is it a true hermie?

Thanks for any help.

Images are very detailed, please click on them and magnify for extreme detail.

This first pic is of an extra branch that appeared when it was only a couple weeks old, it has now grown out:

This one about half way up:

And the rest near the top of the plant:

Thanks for replying, yea its weird, and it will be very interesting to flower it.

There are clones of it rooting as i speak.

Really interested if this is common...

Please reply if you have seen this before in a cannabis plant, by the lack of responses im starting to think this is very rare...

Since it's still in veg mode, plants do grow like that. As bigganjabud said, once you induce flowering stage....that's when you start to look for signs.

Appears to be healthy....go with it!

I really don't see anything to strange. It looks like it is just branching out. Will be interesting to see it flower, looks like it wants to yield.

It's doing what a healthy plant in vegetative stage does.
ERR In the first picture I think I see a couple of young leaves dying?
Otherwise they look good .
I bet before the next week is finished, it will show sex.
I think it is important and that a plant be given some time in its flowering pot before actually flowering being triggered, so the roots will have a chance to fill its containers.
I opine that once the stretch period of flowering is over (the first 2.5-3 weeks) that very little root growth is going on.
At this time the plant will be putting most of its energy in growing flowers.
I know sometimes the plants have other ideas .If growing from seed?
A wise peep will do his best to sex his plants and transplant into the plants flowering containers for better root growth which equals better uptake and bigger buds.

Its very healthy, those yellow leaves are the first ones out of the seed, those single one's, cant remember the name for them. The got done by under watering, i watered late.

I judge a plants health on how healthy and how long you can keep alive the oldest foliage.

Thanks for the reply's.

"Pre" flowers don't always happen, I just pop my first clone under 12/12, see what sex it is, then throw it away, and do what I will with the mother(or father) and any subsequent cuttings.

I get the vibe that you have a male, there. But I didn't see anything to confirm. But I got a feeling lol good luck

That is different. Should be extra tops no?
Since you have clones, you should flip it and find out for sure. Worse that can happen is you yank it.

Im betting male from the way the tops arnt staggering yet. Might be wrong will see. Everyone of my females
the leafs are staggered left right the leafs start coming out.

yea now when i think of it this plant is staying totally symmetrical as apposed to others that are staggered

Alternating nodes is a sign of plant maturity.
Contrary symmetrical petioles is a sign of a plant NOT being mature.
A wise peep would do well to wait until the plants are mature before flowering.
Sometimes that is hard to do indoors if having height issues or light intensity.
Sure not fully mature plants can flower but its yield will be retarded .
Pre flowers will not be far behind!
I urge you to try and sex them before the flip and then get them into their flowering pots so your plants will have some time to root them.
More roots = more uptake= bigger yields.
Living is learning.

If you have clones of each flip them. LOL

These are undifferentiated preflowers which grow into branches giving two branches at a single petiole. . This isn't terribly uncommon it's just that lots of growers don't grow many seeds and those that do grow from an increasingly narrow gene pool. It seems to occur more frequently on lines with a predisposition to being intersexed although it isn't always the case.

turned out female, and for bagseed it is an incredibly stable female too, i couldn't get these to herm if i tried(not true but you get the idea), also very hard to reverse, using CS it will eventually produce bananas but they won't make any pollen.
