how is that going for you? i am running soilless and want to try them out for a stadium b/c hand watering is a bitch and stadium plants really use up different levels of water each. is there a specific page in here where they are discussed? thx

Lazy you mentioned that you used the high temp shut off from cap but was not impressed by it, which one did you grab and what were the issues?
Thought about the high temp shut off with 15 minute delay, especially with the rain my electricity cuts out sometimes and im not home to unplug the trigger cable for the load center and the ballast stay on trying to fire the bulb but nothing happens.

I forgot the model # but yeah thats the one I tried (from CAP.) I tried two actually, both units did the same thing. if it gets too hot they turn off just fine, but either before or after the timer, they won't turn the timer/relay back on. They just click, off, click, off, every 4 seconds or so. Very annoying and very hard on ballasts. mines sitting on a shelf as a paperweight now.
Thanks man, just a process of sorting through the ~15 strains and picking a few keepers at this point. I'm hoping G13Xhaze or SSH will be one (or two) along with Jackpot and Purple Gorilla. The rest are fine strains but not suitable for commercial production IMHO.

It sure does keep me out of trouble! I gotta run to the store and pick up another 3 clone tray setups, I have 11 trays of cuts rooting now! Yikes. I could probably take another 15 trays if I sat down to do it, but don't have anywhere to put them, lol.

how do you deal with ph fluctuatioin in your reserviors? i have blumats and a res that i use to hand water but i have to add ph down before i water everyday.

Ph fluctuation is normal and should be taken as a sign of a healthy res. Ph climbs, plants are drinking lots of water (which makes the RO add more ph 7.0 water to the res)
I have an onsite caretaker who adds PH down to all the barrels 2x a day as needed. one of these days I will invest in 5 mini dosers, but I'm told they aren't the most reliable devices.

Haven't flowered Maui yet, I got them as 2 cuts from a trusty source, and was vegging them to get them big enough to clone. I actually ended up with 40 cuts of those two moms, so I will veg and flower them in the coming months. (along with the others!)
The next several runs are gonna be a lot of fun, crazy variety.
I have about 40 Blue Dragons in preveg that are almost 2' tall, and 140 Jackpots the same size.
After that there are the 11 trays of clones above to choose from, probably starting with SSH, Purple Gorilla, and g13Xhaze. I KNOW all of those are big yielders now, it's just a matter of dialing them in. 2011 is gonna rock!

LOL I thought I was too, but everyone keeps giving me new cuts to try out, and some of the ones I've been hunting for have finally showed up, so I'm still back to lots!
At least I have enough of everything to to an entire row of lights of each now, even two lights worth of most strains works out well. I just hate the crops where I have lots of 1-2 plants (like half my next crop, huge mix!) cuz I may not even get a full qp out of those. I at least like to have a couple pounds of each strain.
I have a feeling a lot of my current clones will end up going to other homes, as I just won't have room for 400 clones ANYWHERE. I wish I could just give em out here! lol Several of them I know I won't be doing large runs of too (10-12 weeks strains) and am just spreading the genetics around to buddies anyway, like Wow, Pineapple Thai, Pure Thai, Chocolope, etc. The rest of them I need to do a couple runs of before deciding their worthiness.
