Laponia, Thule ?

I have been growing a supposed autoflowering strain that I got from a grower in Finland, Laponia. I was told that it was Thule x Lowryder2. One question I have is: What is Thule?
I have grown Laponia 3 times, twice indoors and once outdoors. The first crop was an indoor seedcrop. I think I grew it out for a few weeks at 24/0 but then switched it to 12/12 because I was growing it with some non autos that needed it. It still grew nicely and I was impressed with its productivity and character of the high.
Next I tried it outdoors in a bed along with Lowryder and lowryder auto hybrids. I direct seeded outdoors and the lowryder clan predictably autoflowered as usual. The laponia showed no sign of autoflowering yet. It looked like it was going to get much bigger though before it thought about flowering. My bed was getting a bit crowded and having the laponia get much larger would interfere with the intensive management of my bed. So I decided to cull them at that time and try again indoors to figure out their growth characteristics.
So 10 weeks ago I planted 10 laponia in 1 gallon nursery pots of soiless mix. I grew them at 24/0 and between 3 and 4 weeks they indicated sex as auto flowers tend to do. I culled the males as I had plenty of seed and got 3 females out of 8 seedlings. One female developed quickly into a mini indica christmas tree as lowryder is apt to do sometimes. The other two females had sativa like leaves and grew taller with well spaced internodes. These two phenotypes matured at very different rates. The mini indica was completely mature in 9 weeks total. I harvested it a week ago. Meanwhile the two females of the sativa persuasion are SLOWLY starting to build clusters of pistils and form buds. I think they will take at least another month to develop.
I am puzzled about what to think about this strain because I know so little about it. Anyone know its history and characteristics?

Could be some kind of auto landrace ruderalis crossed to lr2. Both Laponia and Thule are locations of places.

Thule (pronounced /ˈθuːliː/ or ˈθjuːli;[1][2][3] from Greek Θούλη, Thoulē), also spelled Thula, Thila, or Thyïlea, is, in classical European literature and maps, a region in the far north. Though often considered to be an island in antiquity, modern interpretations of what was meant by Thule often identify it as Norway.[2][4] Other interpretations include the Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands, and Scandinavia. In the Late Middle Ages and Renaissance, Thule was often identified as Iceland or Greenland. Another suggested location is Saaremaa in the Baltic Sea.[5]

The term ultima Thule in medieval geographies denotes any distant place located beyond the "borders of the known world". Sometimes it is used as a proper noun (Ultima Thule) as the Latin name for Greenland when Thule is used for Iceland.

Just a guess on my part :) gl and show some pics if u can !

Well, accidently found this thread, and it's old one, but I try to draw Thule's attention on to this one.

In Finland there is a habbit of breeding your own stuff, year after year.Querilla even. Most of them are autoflowers, some earlys..
Gyus usually spread them to other growers, they have good results and another star has born ;).
We really have a habit of sharing in our forum, and that's a fantastic thing.

I think some of the guys have made some excellent crosses that can adapt Finnish summer and take the most of it.
This must be one of them.

Thule is his nickname and he must have named it after himself ;)

Hello Rangegord

If I can remember correctly Thule is LR#1 x Early Pearl.

Laponia is mostly AF but then there is some bigger phenotypes that are earlys.
You will find stinky and sturdy plants. I have used one big stinky Laponia male to make some crosses, with good results. Mold resistance could be better, like with most AF strains.

Actually this time it happened the other way around, I named myself after the strain :D IC didn't activate my old name when I registered, so I was forced to come up with something different.. I guess I was unisnspired at the time, I've felt like changing the name for years.

Anyway, it's nice to hear about you and Laponia Rangergord. Purppura got the pedigree right! Thule and Laponia were my first crosses when I got into cannabis, old school for me, as I later moved to pure landraces. Some phenotypes are showing more of the non autoflowering Earlypearl side and are slower flowering. I lost my seedstock in a raid years ago, thought the strain was extinct by now.
