Hey guys...

Well, here is the thing,a friend of mine is going to give me some seeds he brought from Costa rica,Colombia...so i would like to know how can i know if it´s a landrace or not...i guess sativa is predominant of that area right??
He sed that he bought an ounce to smoke an that the pack was full of those seeds,so he separated them from the weed,so he could smoke it...and that is all that i know about the backround....
Could anybody help me on this matter?

my understanding is yes it should be, but then I have had people tell me about landrace indicas from south of the border so in truth there isn't likely a concrete way to know.

Greetings

Unfortunately in this day of easy travel it could be anything.

How long would it take to get on a plane with C.Indica seeds and fly to Costa Rica?

How long in this day of easy internet access would it take a savvy grower in Costa Rica to cross them to his locally available plants?

I say unfortunate becuase so much eradication has been done in third world countries, herbicides used in the wild that would never be allowed in the US, Canada or EU that alot of those real IBL or true breeding C.Sativas may have been wiped out.

I would certainly grow them! There is a chance that these were NOT hybrid and not an import.

If so this could really be something valuable.

Worth a million. No shit.

True breeding unworked plants are a breeders dream, they are fresh and complete and they are an entire library of genes.

Anything is possible with that kind of deep, dank, dark gene pool.

And bring us back a pearl!

even if it's a hybrid it could be something special, but yeah i would venture a guess that the colombian is likely to be some kind of sativa. good chance the costa rican is originally from colombia as well if it was commercial stuff. grow it. even if it is a pure sativa and doesn't perform well under lights, i'd still cross it to your favorite indica and try those F1s.

i'm in the same boat about to try this with some seeds from peru. no idea if its landrace or hybrid. either way they're bound to be unique.
