Cover your track!

Cover your track!

Hey Now, You want to always cover your tracks. Landlords, are responsible for their property, so you can see his point of view. No reference from him I guess. you never know, he could be drinking at the local pub and telling your story to some local cop.

Last month I left a water bottle, climbed back though that prickly brush, to get it. Some drywall mud/paint can fix anything.

Your old landlord didn't call the cops but he might try to warn your new landlord... so watch out!

Where Im from they all seem to know each other and sometimes ask for previous landlord references when signing a new lease

He has no proof you did it.
It would be just as easy for him to have done it.
He's got nothing on you.
Ignore him.
If anyone tries to use it on you explain to them what liable is.
It is illegal to accuse someone of a crime without solid proof.
What are two holes in a wall. You could have done it, but holes don't imply growing,Just venting something.
Long gone, speak no more of it.

PEACE DA

how hard is it to patch drywall? i mean even if you don't know how to do that, you couldn't even be bothered to take down your weather stripping? you brought it on yourself dude.

I cut a hole in the ceiling and a small hole in the door for air exchange - definitely did not repair either when I moved out. Used weather stripping around the edges of the door to black it out. WELL, that grow finished long ago, I turned off the HPS. My lease ran out, and I have since moved.

sorry, i thought that was common sense and couteousness to repair damage to a rented place before moving, even if you aren't growing. People you rent from don't appreciate you tearing up their buildings.

The thing is....it sounds like you're surprised he noticed.....

I work for a guy that turns over apartments for the next renters, and boy howdy do people leave it a mess!! Hands down, girls are the absolute worst. About 1 in 4 of guys leave the place a mess, but easily 3 out of 4 girls leave it an absolute wreck!! I am not saying all girls are this way, but they sure are in this city. Soot on the walls from candles (reaaal smart, burn the fucker down), beer bottles in the toilet, used tampons on the ground!!!! Freaking MEAT ON THE COUNTER!!!! for a couple days too. People seem to be getting worse and worse about leaving things without cleaning up.
Sometimes it ain't bad though. Found 9 1/2 hydrocodone in a place, that was good, and even a copy of Easy Rider and a porn dvd. And a very, very thick glass ashtray.

Dudes as well, I am going to be cleaning up the previous renters mess in exchange for waiving the pet deposit.

Me and my animals will be MUCH cleaner than this guy was...

on the "cabinet vs. closet" issue....something that wasnt mentiond.

....aside from minimizing damage to a place you dont own.

a cabinet is YOUR "private property" especially so if it has a lock.

If a landlord comes to visit he has NO right whatsoever to look in your locked cabinet.

He DOES have a right to inspect HIS closet tho.

The only way a locked cabinet can be inspected legally is w/ a "search warrent". (This may buy u enuf time to rid evidence if you have a good plan in place)
