clones are 3 to 7 weeeks old, how far away should the lights be?

what are all the signs of being too far away & too close to the lights?

i have only feed 2 times ff big grow with 1/3 the recomended dose, i have 430 hps 22 in away in a 3.5 by 3.5 by 9 height closet 180 cfm blower is almost installed and its organic soil ffoc with coco coir and a little blood meal, folliar and water with super thrive and i never have checked for ph i use purified distilled water and i am thinking the nutes make the ph go up should i use hydro or dylomite lime? how much?

thaz the problem...your nutes make the ph rise exthemely high...

you need to keep it on 6,5-7(if i remember)...
i think the lights are ok...your plants are grown normally...

You dont know the right distance between the bulb and the plants without a thermostat.Just put a thermostat at the top of your plants.The temperature should not be above 82 Fahrenheit.In wintertime when its colder you can get the lamps closer when in summertime so you cant say it general.Just look at the temperature.
A sign for beeing too far away(the lamps) is that the plants get long internodes ór growing slowly.

Are you soaking those plants heavily in water? You have to be careful of that when they are that small. You should be running the lights a foot away. Put your hand on the top of the plant and if it feels ok then it will be fine. If you run them to high the plants will "reach" for the light and get tall and lanky. By the look of the plants, I would back off any nutes for a week and see how they look.....
