Heat signatures popped these guys, while sheriffs looking for bad guys.
DUARTE - Deputies discovered about 100 marijuana plants in a building and recovered as estimated $5,000 while investigating a burglary over the weekend, officials said Monday.
Authorities estimated the street value of the marijuana between $6,000 to $10,000.
The marijuana grow was found about 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Highland Avenue which is a commercial area.
As deputies arrived, a sheriff’s helicopter crew scanned the area with a forward looking infrared radiometer and noticed unusually high heat coming from inside the building, according to a statement released Monday by the sheriff’s department,
They also spotted three men leaving the rear of the building. Deputies detained the trio.
Narcotics detectives were notified.
The statement doesn’t mention if the men detained were arrested. Narcotics investigators couldn’t be reached for comment Monday night.

I believe those "forward looking infrared radiometer" devices are "standard equipment" for metro Police/Sheriff choppers.
Heads up!
