Koh Chang Thailand Sativas?

I have heard of some wild sativas on Koh Chang island here which I often visit. Does anyone have any information on this? Would love to get hold of some for a breeding project. There are some yummy sativas here in Thailand, as I am sure most of you know. :canabis:

Im smoking some pure koh chang right now :yummy:

She's a classic lemony spicy sativa, very clear and motivating at the start, then dreamy, more long lasting than pure nams.

She's extremely long flowering, even slower than hazes.

Here's some info and pics posted in the past :

I hope it helps. Best wishes. dubi - ACE Seeds -

World of Seeds offers a Koh Chang sativa for sale.

See http://www.worldofseeds.eu/eng/wos_bank_08.php for details.

I had a look at there thia it sed this.

Growing time: 1-2 weeks(indoor)

Harvest time: 75-80 days indoor/last November outdoor

most thia lines wont even show sex in 8 weeks of flower so has to be some thia hybrid thats leaning less to the thia side.

Nice looking plant to dubi.

Im convinced personally the reason you hear Koh Chang island talked about so much has to do with the numerous Hightimes articles written about the island.

Wonder how much the koh chang tourist industry paid Hightimes to do that for them? Rosy cheeks not long ago posted a rather intelligent and insightful post on the subject of Thai varietys and where you may want to look to find something close to fabled thai we all here so much about from the old timers.

Lol, yeah, I don't think the tourist industry here would be doing that, especially with their little war on drugs here. Tourism Authority of Thailand wants Chinese and Korean package tourists who litter the beaches and buy junk souvenirs and then leave after a week, not those into smoking who hang out here for months in bungalows and bonk local girls. They don't like that! :spank: So they say.

But interesting about High Times. I had never heard of Koh Chang sativas until a few weeks ago, and I have lived here for years.

A lot of the weed around here is pretty lame. We always say it comes from Cambodia, but who really knows? The stuff in Lao is is pretty good. The smoking scene is Lao is what Thailand used to be like; more open and better quality.

Hello,

Thank you, so it's still easy, and it seems that the cops don't care there, good <3

Actually I like Koh Chang because rainy season is so long and I love to stay on my balcony to relax with spliff all day <3

Where do you usually stay at KC ?

If anybody is going there next month please post a message and see you !

Thanks again.

I think the chances of the buds originating from koh Chang are remote .
The Cambodian Border is within spitting distance . Herb is tightly restricted in Thailand . Cambodia not so .

Herb is grown in Laos / Myanmar and Cambodia . Then transported to Thailand .

As Koh Chang is a tourist destination next to the Cambodian border I would bet money that`s where herb on Koh Chang eminates from .

Keeping a crop secure on an island ? I highly doubt it .

Same with herb in Chiang Mai : Imported from Laos , not grown in Thailand .

Thanks for sharin

I have to concur with you EB, I know Koh Chang well as it's just across the water from what has been my home base in Thailand and I have been there many times.
If cheaper sources of kancha were harder to come by I always fall/fell back upon a reliable source on the island. They told me where it comes from and via, it is Lao brick.
The southern part of Koh Chang is much more isolated but there is no chance anything would be grown there for commercial purposes. Some Thais love to gossip and they have a way of not keeping their mouths shut allowing their friends to be caught. One local also said there had been a crack down and kancha was more scarce. I'm sure that may ebb and flow, there are some dedicated lovers of the herb there that make it available, praise them, just not their prices he he.

I've never encountered anything Cambodian, I'm not saying it doesn't exist, I do doubt it though. The quality compared to Lao product would be hard to come by going by what I have sampled twice at the nearest point across the border, shitty, wispy skunk.

I doubt Koh Chang was ever a major place for growing.

Rain levels are extremely high in Eastern Thailand, they are comparable to parts of Southern Thailand. The North East is more favourable for growing cannabis as it's drier.

A place where it is wetter that would have been a hotspot for growing is Nakhon Si Thammarat in the south. Plenty of Lao kancha there and lovers of the sacred herb, unlike Trad.

Aces Koh Chang is most likely Lao herb, not Thai.

I believe that it comes by boat from Cambodia, so easy to cross between cambodia and Koh chang, quite fast with ha speed boat ! But I wonder if they sell a lot on Koh chang ?

Hop off a plane in Phnom Pen and score quality herb in the car park !
Sihanoukeville has Happy Pizza shops .

Drugs are freely available in Cambodia .
1/4 ounce of good sensi from a Tuk Tuk driver 20 -30 dollars .
Not the brown brick weed like in Thailand .

Cambodia is quite different to Thailand in that way .

I get so many different answers, and ive been asking the same question for years lol....

What type\area do you think would be ideal to look for a Soaring, happy Sativa that is a daydreamer delight, introvert inspiring weed that gives you butterflies in excitement where you feel like you can invent 100 things a day. Your too excited to be paranoid, a good warm soothing speed instead of a cold, heart palpating speed.

I keep thinking cambodian\vietnamese is a good place, but then you have all the south american stuff... I believe african is a agreed trippy\paranoid type of sativa, but.... what about the Asians\South Americans......
I'm thinking about Panama from cbg, maybe Tikal from Ace {Guatemalan].... I have some old reeferman stock Burmese Pure going atm I have high hopes for.... I also have some Nirvana Raspberry cough going in search of a killer cambodian sativa pheno, and I have some Nirvana PPP in search of a good Durban Poison....

I know harvest times, and so many other variables are involved.... Just looking for a general direction. I've already spent 15 years it seems asking the same question lol.... I GREATLY appreciate any help guys, its been a brutal search since I smoked the Sativa girl that captured my attention years ago

Set , setting , tolerance and dosage .
Harder to get all those factors in line years later .

Laos kancha has very little perceived body effect . Though in strong doses it effects my equilibrium . Stand up and walk after smoking it , and have a wobbly shoe .

Thanks for sharin

Dr. Young, finding the soaring trippy high is very difficult to find. I've grown a bunch of thais and haven't found it. I've grown Vietnamese and haven't found it. I've grown Colombians, Jamaicans, and others and haven't found it.

Don't get me wrong, I've found quite a few really really good sativas in the eight of 10 Richter scale.

I found the nines and 9.5s in this one long leaf haze I call long leaf (bully), another long flower skunk haze, and Lieu Hahn (Nevilles Haze x Vietnamese Black).

You can look in my thread called haze experience for an example of long leaf bully.

You basically need to hunt them down and grow and grow them. It takes years of work to find them.
