whats up everyone? i'm proud to announce a litte successful cross i made for the purpose of getting big fat ripe buds that were ready to harvest by late sept/ early oct. and being mold resistant.
not only did everything turn out just as planned but i even got way more then i expected. i took my favorite KG male and crossed it with my biggest yielding and early SS...both strains are excellent for mold resistance.
the first pics here are of just straight KG from the seeds i made from a 12 pack i ordered and grew them out and selected my favorite parents. they were just about ripe mid sept but i let them go for a few cold nights and they purpled up excellent!
the next group of pics are of a KG x SS pheno that leaned more on the KG side and also purpled up nicely after a few cold nights!
here is my new outdoor pride and joy, it's the KG x SS leaning towards the SS side but with some nice KG qualities also.
the straight KG and the KG x SS pheno that leaned on the KG side got pollinated so they didn't get maximum bud size but they are nice and rock hard just like the orginal KG is.
the KG x SS pheno that leaned on the SS side got lightly pollinated but the buds are monsters....the top cola measured in at 25 inches and weighed 3 ounces....the whole plant was 15 ounces....there wasn't any popcorn trim on this plant...every single bud was a keeper, big , huge, and dense. i harvested it the first week of oct.
so my first breeding plan i ever pulled off worked to perfection and i'm one happy grower....i made myself a monster strain that yields massive rock hard buds that get done in time for my area and is totally mold resistant.
i got these off to a late start and neglected them for the first month because they were from seed and i had other clones out that i took care of more, but when i seen these beasts start to take off i took better care of them...next year they are getting most of my attention and i want to see what i can yield if i get them out early and take care of them from beginning to end. my plan is to take the breeding program further and try to stablize this.
i'm also working on KG x HTC skunk and KG x the pure....i believe KG is a good strain to grow and breed with....we all know how good the skunks are to breed with....i think when you combine them it brings out the best of both sides that may be hiding from the inbreeding.
here's a couple more pics but i don't know how well you can see my pics because either my camera sucks, i need a tripod, or i'm always to ripped.
i'll have full smoke reports after they cure for a couple more weeks.
well if anyone has any questions or anything just ask....peace
