Keith Richards is the classic example that drugs dont kill you, the lack of drugs and bad drugs ( unclean ) will kill you. As long as Keith keeps dope around him and its good dope he is a functioning junkie. The avg drug addict doesnt have money to have a never ending supply of dope and run out. Thats when they get sick and commit crimes. Also alot of drug addicts buy shit off the corner and its cut with all kinds of nasty shit. Keith has the money ( plus he is overseas) to get dope that hasnt been stepped on so his chance of dying from a hotshot are slim to none.

Take dope away from him he will die in a month. As long as he has dope aound he can live forever

He might be in bad shape, but I doubt he'd die, esp with the medical care he can afford.

Heroin withdrawal is not fatal..you may wish you could die, but if yer health is generally ok, you won't crap out.

Only two drugs I know of have fatal withdrawal symptoms....alcohol and Seconal.
