What's up!

Got a little pariniod about geting sued for sharing files last year and I quit. I started again, I love music.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm a product of the 70's: Aerosmith, Led Zeplin, Beatles etc.

..speaking of kazaa... what is up with the downloads. I used to download a few songs myself; but lately there have been a few new ones I wanted and when I went to get them what downloaded was about 10 seconds of music and the rest was a "buzzing" feedback kind of sound...

I got that crap too man...I started using a program called BearShare..you should also download Ad Aware if you havent' already because that stuff is full of spyware.

Try limewire I find pretty much anything i want... From Rolf harris's Jake the peg to The thundercats theam tune.

Those are called 'decoy files' posted by the RIAA...
one way of avoiding them is to not download files that have more than 15 people sharing (or download pop music )

kazaa has been going down hill for a while so i tried to move away from it. Ares has worked decent for me (im behind a firewall) but ive been partial to Soulseek for a while...It kind of sucks for individual songs, but you can usually find whole albums easily, give it a try...

bittorrent, shareaza are 2 i use. Shareaza is pretty much kazza but i seem to get better speeds than i ever got on kazza.
Don't share your files if u are paranoid, although that kinda defeats the object of p2p networks.

downloading torrents is WAY easier.

if you want a p2p program though, go with soulseek

torrents are definitely the best, but I think you have to be careful with the torrent you download, make sure its a good credited torrent, but you can get anything you need from torrents. As for filesharing, i use limewire, it gets the job done, and as long as your not downloading any zip files, i think your good.
