Kalite Tizane/Mangu Karot/Desfran

This summer I want to give it a go with several longflowering pure sativa's.

Tried a lot from Ace already, but now want to try some more "wild" sativa landraces. I already got some African and Southeast Asian strains from TRSC.

I liked the Zamaldelica from ACE a lot, which incorperated a strain from Réunion island.

Now I came across "French thouch seeds" which offers two Réunion strains for reasonable prices. It's the "Kalite Tizane" and "Mangu Karot".

"K1 a.k.a. Kalité Tizane is a pure sativa landrace marijuana strain from the island of La Réunion located off the eastern coast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. The Bourbon Breeders there have stabilised this special strain over a period of a decade or more with the result that hermaphroditism has been reduced to a rate below 5%."

"We are proud to present our Mangu Karot, a famous landrace strain from La Reunion (Zamal).

This 100% Sativa strain grows vigorous and slender, and needs around 100-130 days to complete its flowering. Yields are abundant, with lots of long and frosty buds.

Mangu Karot rewards the patience of the grower with awesome buds, long and completely covered with resin glands. The scent is exotic and unique, a subtle blend of mango and carrot notes. The effect is energizing and uplifting, suitable to improve mood and perform your daily activities."

Anyone know these strains? And are these legit?

I also like to know if Destroyer is still available (for fair prices)? Seems the Cannobiogen strain is discontinued?

I only came across a reproduction by Dutch Passion called "Desfrán" (Destroyer x Destroyer).

"Desfrán is a legendary South American variety that has won numerous cannabis cups. Desfrán is the result of a crossing of Destroyer with Destroyer, and was originally a three-way cross of Mexican Oaxaca, Colombian Punto Rojo and Meao Thai. Dutch Passion owes this variety to Alberto from Argentina, a master breeder and cannabis connoisseur and the owner of Haze magazine. With our first collaboration we wanted to introduce Desfrán in Europe."

I tried their Durban Poison in the past, but this seems to have a fair ammount of indica in it compared to Durbans from other breeders. So probably not as "pure" as promoted on their site.

Anyone tried their Desfrán and is this the same as the original?

Hello. I haven't tried the ones from French Touch Seeds, but they have a reputation for being authentic. The Desfrán is a copy of the "more commercial" genotype, early, "less" powerful, but the one with the best flavor (here it is said that it is the genotype most influenced by the Verde Limón Michoacana, which is said to be the Mexican part of the Destroyer). I (and another person) grew a packet of 5 feminized ones: 1 came out as if it were crossed with industrial textile hemp, and the remaining 4 had almost the same potency (as the less potent Destroyer genotype) but equally spectacular flavor.

(If you like more powerful Destroyers, you may like Golden Tiger and Green Haze 19 from ACE, or Durban Punch from Tropical Seeds Company)

Yes, the description and flowering times mentoined at French Touch Seeds make it seem to be pure landrace sativa. Also fair prices, so for sure those will be put on the list if its a solid seller.

I was looking for some more genuine, wild/pure sativa strains this time. Have run several ACE strains in the past and was actually quite suprised on how commercial they were. Great plants, quite short flowering times and filled up nice. Bit finicky on the ferts, but overall quite easy to grow (which is a good thing ofcourse!). But not really what I expect if I think of pure landraces, which was a bit their repuration. The Golden Tiger was already on the to-do list (was sadly sold out when I purchased my last ACE run) and I will look into the Green Haze and Durbanpunch. 😁

However, currently I'm looking for something more challenging. Basically the opposite of commercial strains, something which is much more difficult to tame. I like to bring it to the next level of growing this time, just to see if I can get it done. 🤣

I have been keeping a Destroyer line since I last yelled at CG for having found a pheno with "wider leaflets" it's a very legit line, I keep it mostly as a curiosity in my seed stock, and sometimes it pops up in my random seeds. Not my favorite smoke, but amazing for breeding. also by Cannabiogen I grew their Durban, highly recommended if you can get your hands on them. but from what I know CB is kaput.
