Kali China x Orient Express fem is a very new limited edition, it has been grown only by local testers in my area so i don't think you will find reports about her yet. It's an early flowering chinese dominant plant with lovely creamy sweet tropical aromas, average potency and yield, but very kind effect and taste. Full description in our website and here in the 2014 limited editions thread.
Thanks for the info, they sound awesome! Any growing tips? I actually popped a couple from a recent seed purchase and was wondering if there was anything to know, nute sensitivity, phenos, etc.
Yea once it gets a little more interesting I'll be updating my journal in the micro forum. I'm new to these kind of plants so hopefully I can keep them somewhat happy nutrient wise and also keep the size in check. I'm very encouraged by the people who have shown micro hazes and such are a possibility.
The front two are Zamaldelica, then Kalichina x Orient Express, Destroyer, nepjam, and PCK in the back. I'm crossing my fingers for one male/female each but of course highly doubt it'll work out in this manner.
Here is the other pheno I have. I misread the preflower and it turned out to be a male. Likely going to the chopping block but here he is for documentation.
This one was a little broader in leaf and less vigorous than the one I posted above which is definitely female. Also stays green and flexible longer in branch comparatively. They both take to training well but the vigor of the female makes it a little bit easier of a task.
edit: I chopped it down in early flower due to space issues. A stem rub reveals why the smoke is noted to be "creamy" - it smells of a fruit and cheese plate.
Here's the female now sitting around 26 days of flower. She can eat a bit more than some of the other strains I'm running but I've been trying to keep the same feed for all of them due to ease of grow so she is a bit yellowed. I've upped it a tad so we will see how she responds.
The tall big cola on the left is the main branch with the two taller ones on the right being the earlier lower branches that had time to grow up. The smaller ones are the small side branches on the main stem after LST. A little wonky but I didn't start training until later than I wanted so she didn't get as even as I would like.
Sure thing. My nose is a little plugged up due to allergies but right now you get a hashy tone in the forefront, which fades away revealing the creamy, cheesy, baked scent that lies underneath. There is a tinge of sweetness that rides through all of this, but nothing I would describe as remotely fruit like.
The male up above that got chopped fits the profile provided by ACE quite a bit closer:
a refined sweet, tropical perfume and creamy aroma.
Gotta come over to the micro section for that! I messed that one up quite a bit (you can see it in the background in the picture), would rather not clutter the great Ace forum and this thread with that monstrosity . I will see it to the end though.
I like the look of your Kali China x Orient Express flowers. She would produce much better yield adding more fertilizers (Orient Express crosses are hungry plants!) and by checking and adjusting the ph correctly.
Here she is right before chop. As dubi stated she responded hungrily to a little extra feed before I flushed her out. I chose between maturing the new growth a bit and making sure the initial bloom did not get too mature for the timing. The buds are very dense and heavy. I will run her again sometime soon with this experience in mind and do her better justice next time.
She ended up picking up a bit of musky citric notes at the end despite not having any sort of fruit during 99% of the grow. I will describe the smell better later once it is ready to sample.
