Hello Community,

I seen this "new" Breeder on a Strainbase earlier this Year.

This Breeder claims that he got some Hybrids which a done with Russian Landrace Strains...

- Russia Lake Baikal = central russia ( Sativa ) x {Skunk x AK-47}
- Russia Altai = south / west central asia/russia ( Sativa ) x AK47
- Russia Kuban = caucsus area ( Sativa ) x {Northern Lights x AK47}
- Russia Siberian ( Ruderalis )

Anyone growed some of those so far or any Infos about the Local Strains from Lake Baikal, Altai or Kuban?

:) Puff

That Russian Siberian, is it for sale as a pure ruderalis? If so I may have to figure out who this guy is and get me some of those.

I saw some grow reports here and there but didn`t pay that much attention. I think there is somewhere info about their genetic background. I can find some info when I`ll have a bit of spare time.

Is not indicative of this- Landrace

If they're claiming landrace varieties and offering crosses that's actually quite funny since they are mutually exclusive.

Sounds more like some sales pitch BS to me.

reinforced with a little bit of Sativa from the Russian Far East

Tuned by five years of efforts to cross breed AK phenotype with Altai Sativa strains

Obtained after crossing the Kuban genotype with Afghan Kush

so they just claim some breeding with those Sativas... it reads like it would be Landraces Sativas but ur prob. right with this is just a marketing BS

Yeah man, anything x anything is no longer a landrace, it's a hybrid. Landrace by definition is a strain that's been growing wild for many many years without human interaction.

Eastern Europe hemp and ruderalis varieties could be also called sativa, but they're CBD weed, couchlock effect mostly. I guess without seeing those russian hybrids grown by a reputable user, we can suppose it's marketing bullshit. Feral weed tends to have low THC content, anyway, I really don't think those russian "sativas" have any notable high sativish effect.

Sure thats nothing new to me Bro...

Im just asking what makes it "that special", or in other words why they inbreeded some local strains? ;)

Actually, it's outbreed, since they seem to be F1 cross with drug type cannabis variety.

More so out breed like mentioned. Why not? I'm sure they're after something in the gene pool although I have no way of knowing what that would be other than another strain to market, which isn't a bad thing but a landrace it is not.

I would say it's not a "real" strain either, just a "hybrid" cross, simple F1. There's probably lots of work ahead to get something uniform and worth growing from that.

Lots of work indeed. It sounds like they did the first cross and are marketing them as land race when in fact they are perhaps two separate land races crossed to make f1s like you said. Still a lot of wild genes in there but I think it's unethical to market hybrids as land races since so much time and effort go into isolating true land races for those who need true land races.

Russia is A BIG country and I suppose they have many landraces, specially ruderalis.So close Afganistan, China etc... lots of possibilities.
In Finland's section there is a very old picture of family and in front of them is clearly cannabis plant.So there has been old varieties in Finland too, now lost..sadly.
So why there wouldn't be many in Russia ;)
They would have used it as remedy and medicine too.
I wish that that country would open up, I think there is many wonderful varieties that we don't know about...
