i had 4 females i grew all 4 in door ,,,all hermied ,,,i grew 2 of the phenos outside they both hermied that in itself is no problem and not uncommon with gureilla lines brought in under lights,,,that being said i liked the smoke its was similar to weed ive smoked in kalamata but not the same i dont know if that because its diffrent line,, diffrent pheno,, or a cross at this point,,, has a pleasant long lasting high pineapple an spice flavours ,, if its of interest the best i had in kalamata was a light green super hashy resinous pine apply type pheno pure party weed super euphoric laughing gas

Hi ctg they look nice have your grown these out before ?. We had the Kalamata red being grown and sold here in the 70s 80s by Greeks that immigrated.

The flowers were Red thus the name i only ever saw the flowers.

Thanks for the info harvest reaper, mine are early in the game, not showing any hermi at this point.

hempy I haven’t grown this line before but I’m excited to see what they do and are about. My family came to
the USA from Greece and I’ve heard legends.

Looking nice and healthy. I’m interested to see how it turns out. I like the description of party weed. How is this variety to grow indoors ? I’m tempted to get seeds from real seeds of these. Nice one for sharing as there ain’t many grows online.

It’s stretchy so would be a good one for scrog grows.
what ever height you induce flowering it will triple before it’s finished stretching. I’m pleased so far

Is red Kalamata not from Colomian origin or perhaps Mexican, brought in the early 50-60s to the Greek region?

What I read about the history of Greek Cannabis it was mostly hashish which was smoked round that and that Greeks produced big quantities of hash too.

It’s really hard to say. On Phylos there really aren’t any close relatives to this strandivar. We could speculate and say it is from x or y, but really is just no way to know. Another month and I’ll be pulling these down. Have cuts of both females and the males. Will def make more. Prob do some xs as well
have his Cretan and Supp to be getting another from his collection soon.

The Kalamata looks resinous enough to be a hashplant originally, doesn't it?

Cannabis cultivation in the area goes so far into the past these might very well be local European/West Asian genetics.

So, might, could, we don't know really :chin: It does look good so far! Maybe we'll learn something.

im no expert but lucky enough to have friends from kalamata whos family lived there over a thousand years they do not clam to be experts but told of hashplant origins ,,the weed i smoked there was extremely hashy resinous with a great sativa high definite some hashplants in the genetic if not all ..think c99 for a modern comparable hashy type with a sativa high etc its very diffrent to kalamata in effects tho

Cannabis in Greece goes way back to ancient Greece.

Greece was a lot larger than today it spread far n wide and included what is now Turkey.

Greece spread as far as Afghanistan, Most dont realize that Afghanistan was once part of India.

Not that far from were the Kalamata red comes from you had cannabis growing wild and odds are still dose.

You have both Sativas and indicas in Greece and the cultivation of cannabis was legal there up until the 1930s.
