*Just to test?*can i plug 230v window ac into helios 3 light controller?

Hey folks quick question, hvac guy isnt coming out til wednesday (hopefully early as its supposed to be 90 degrees) to install 18k mini split. Already installed its own breaker when upgrading sub panel while back to hard wire it in.

Went out n snagged a 24k 230v window AC the other day to 'convert" to portable to run in meantime. Well i lagged doin the box, so dont want to install a 240 outlet off the mini split breaker, just to take it down in 2 days.

I
a) want to test the AC and see how well my box riggin works. Want to make sure it works as i plan to flip it on CL after mini split goes up

B) likely should be okay on temps for next 2 days, but pending if its okay or not, and needed the AC for first 2 hours of light on in afternoons....would that be okay?

Have three 1k light running on helios 3 (4 light controller)

I'm not familiar with that light controller but all devices should be rated and as long as your AC falls within the rating,it should be OK.I say should because lighting loads and motor loads are different

I don't think it's a good idea.Your light controller puts out 20amps ,so 3 x1k lights =3x4.9 amps=14.7 amps.

Your 24kbtu ac runs around 10-12 amps or so ,so basically you're overloaded the controller.Can't you run a temporary outlet to your grow?.

Ah gotcha. Was confused with the controllers 30amp input and 20 amp output. Also forgot its a 230w ac so not cuttin the draw in half like a 110 lol. Damnnet.

Yeah i can, just not most confident doin it. prefer my electrician buddy to handle it, maybe ill see if he can swing by later. He does owe me money anyway lol. Only 75 today and lights are off during that time so should be good. Thanks
