Hey all, just wanted everyone to watch this video.. I just saw it and it really opened my eyes to just how wrong our government has become in this country.

Now I don't necessarily blame or hate our government for whats going on in this country, I just think they need to change and learn from it. I believe this is the revolution.

Ron Paul's values certainly seem to be a lot closer to the American values I admire - libertarian, individualistic, and so on...

but let's be clear, in practical terms, it is individual affluence - i.e. capital in the hands of individuals - which allows these values to become a reality... individuals have no autonomy without wealth

it's all very well for Ron Paul to talk of withdrawing US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, but I think he also needs to put forward a very thorough road map for how these countries can be enriched from the ground up, how their economies can start thriving...

IMHO it is not just constitutions and the like which guarantee human rights and individual liberties, it is also capital, capital in the hands of every family - and that means affluence... where will that affluence come from?

so how does Ron Paul propose to get the economies of Afghanistan and Iraq back on their feet, given that the insurgencies in these countries have their real roots not in the agitators and the mullahs, but in the vast mass of impoverished, ill-educated, down-trodden humanity in rural regions such as the Pashtun Belt?

It is these impoverished people who are the power-base for extremist movements and insurgent militias, without them so-called 'Islamism' is nothing

to me it seems clear that the solution lies in central government issuing licenses to cultivate and sell ganja and hashish - call it 'legalisation' if you will... but it is also 'regulation' and 'taxation'... it is a means of creating order and prosperity, where now there is only poverty, division and violent discontent... how else to create unity between the state and it's very poorest fringes, except through the shared goal of enrichment?

such unity is not achieved through preaaching values - the fact is "money talks"... this is how tyrannies are really brought down, not through "pre-emptive warfare" but through common sense, and prosperity

the current policy of global prohibtion of drug cannabis markets is total anarchy, an anarchy which lies at the heart of insurgencies worldwide - instead of channeling this wealth into the hands of criminals and terrorists, it's time to make sure this money ends up where it belongs - enriching farmers, building and rebuilding schools, hospitals, roads and so on...

Ngakpa- i thought the same thing when i read a story about people in the region becomming opium addicts because every in the region not only farmed opium but also used it as medicine, if they also planted cannabis, which yeaild much more per acre than opium, they could just slowly start cutting their opium with hash and receive similar pain relief while slowly easing off the addictive substance to minimize withdrawal symptoms, and int he long run, if all the opium with was cut with hash i doubt they would get addicted in the first place

I haven't watched the link yet, but I will and then I'll post what I think later tomorrow.

I was just wondering tho how many people support Ron Paul only after they heard Marc Emmery say that he would be a step towards legalization? How many people have read up on him?

And do you think if he were elected he would step completely in a different direction than the majority of his party? I may be wrong, but I think marijuana might never come up as an issue.

By the way at the moment he's the one I'd vote for.

God I hate that fat bastard, When a fat ignorant prick tries to tell a man who was in the military during the cold war about how things work he needs to be stabbed and burned. I support Ron Paul I may not be American but America still makes Australia suffer.

I just watched Zeitgeist.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

I'll reserve further comment for the ZeitgeistMovie thread.

he's not for legalization per say, he's against federally funded raids and the war on drugs. he would leave it up to the states to vote for it to be legal. cali wouldn't have to worry about there dispencery's being closed down or being percicuted by the fed gov.

he's been stepping in a different direction for the last 20 years in office, his voting record is flawless. if it's not by the constitution he votes NO.

he's the reason i'm gonna vote for the first time in my life,,,,,,,, :headbange

stay safe and free,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,dwtc
