I was planning on painting it but we just got a big snow storm so I couldn't. I will be painting it this week.

The solution will sit at the bottom of the aeroponic chamber ? Or you intend to use two stacked totes ?

In just a week the roots will grow long and large enough to reach the bottom of the aeroponic chamber, changing this system to a hydroponic one (call it DWC or SWC, depending on the depth of the water).

If you want to go aero, I strongly recommend using a second reservoir, placed under the aero chamber.

You should also insulate the roots chamber, to make it light proof. You don't want light on the root zone on a hydro setup, as algae will eat the nutes and give you nightmares.

Also keep in mind that in aero you need high pressure pumps and extra thin nozzles to create tiny water droplets and the root chamber must have a very good drainage , to avoid water laying on the bottom (or the roots will grow longer trying to suck that water).

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how does aeroponics work? The roots just dangle in the air?
