pretty good system, prices have really come down and with the latest 8800 graphics out there(320mb) at ~300$ made this a great time to upgrade. So here's what I got
Core 2 Duo E6400
EVGA EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR NF680I 775 motherboard (tits for overclocking!)
EVGA 320-P2-N815-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP (killer card, very overclockable at just under 300$, with a bit of time you can make this card outproform damn near everything on the market with the exception of the 8800GTX overclocked. Damn good card for the $$$)
2 gigs Corsair XMS DDR2 ram
Powertek 750w power supply
and a Zalaman Cooler for the CPU
I've already got 4 WD raptor 74gig HD's and burners/readers/speakers/keyboard/mouse ect...
looking forward to getting this thing built and overclocked, the chip should easily get to 3.2GHz, the GPU well I'm hoping I can get the memory to 2000MHz, and the clock to ~575MHz.
well all that and a few extras so that I can make 2 complete systems out of what I've got came to a grand whopping 1300 and change. Not to shabby for what I'm getting. Although if your not big into gaming/overclocking you can use an AMD X2 processor, DDR ram and a midlevel GPU for a lot less money, I built a friend a basic box that does some gaming(Half life, counter strike, Diablo 2) total computer, moniter all imputs and speakers came to ~$800 and the moniter was 1/4 of that.
Building a computer is so simple and you save money and get more computer for your hard earned(or not so hard earned) dollar.
