hiya,,just back from seeing neil young and crazy horse at the london o2,,on stage for over two and a half hours,,,
big fuck my wife and i made was not buying the alchemy album but that band were tight as fuck and did classics like "comes a time", powderfinger, dylans "blowin the wind","cinnamon girl",,"my,my,hey hey" and a killer " like a hurricane",,seem to be really enjoying themselves,,good gig but not a great gig imho, noticed on the way out that "prince" is doing 21 nights in london again,,we love prince over here it seems,cheers 944s2

I'm jealous...damn...I want to see me some NY and CH. The last time I saw them was about 10 years ago. Neil is definitely one of my favorite artists/performers. He still hasn't sold one of his songs to be used in a commercial advertisement...that counts a lot for me.

dannyboy,,fucking band were tight as fuck and note perfect and you could really see these older cats really loved working together,,sadly for me no "helpless" or "southern man" or "needle and the damage done" but a really good gig,,,bet they really kick it when they play ontario,,,regards s2

Neil's over in Europe all freakin summer...the very end of his tour schedule is the Interlocken show. Was hoping that lineup would make it out to the west coast, no such luck. I should have driven up to Seattle to see him a few months ago.

Saw them in Cali when "Greedale" came out. They did a full stage production of the Greendale movie which freakin ROCKED!! Then, they changed the set around and intro'd Crazy Horse and KILLED itwith Cinnamon Girl! As high as I was from all the smoke in the building, I'll NEVER forget what a KICK ass freakin show that was! Lol My dad took me, doesn't get high and was putting his tshirt over his nose to prevent him from inhaling the smoke. Then he starts waving his arms as if thaT will dissapate the weed smoke hahahaha. So ya KNOW i got smoke blown at me ALL night hahaha. Good times good times. Had to get that Greendale dvd while I was there and it made Neil even more luminary in my view...
Bet that was a killer show in London 944!!!

thanks for all the kind words ,,,yeah with the benefit of hindsight,,a very good gig,,even better when we got home i managed to get 3 rows from front of stage for the "waterboys" xmas gig at hammersmith,,love me all of the waterboys stuff and seen mike scott a few times over the years,,i was so baked leaving the neil young gig i mistook an old poster for princes month of gigs in london for a new set of gigs when it was for gigs several years ago lol cheers s2

You have to understand that when Neil Young plays with Crazy Horse he is doing his grunge rock alterego guitar thrashing rough boy thing. He is not going to do any CSY or stuff from Harvest. He has been playing with Crazy Horse for 40 years and its always been the same. Garage hero loud primitive rock and roll.

very true ronbo!!,,and legs still ache after another solo and 25 minute track lol got just 3 or 4 tracks with neil and his harmonica and accoustic and one of those was dylans "blowin in the wind" but a lovely version of "comes a time" but damn the old cats were enjoying themselfs and didnt seem to care a fuck about anything else lol,,s2
