Just bought some DJ Short True Blueberry seeds

I just ordered a pack of True Blueberry seeds mainly in hope of finding a keeper to add to my personal collection to smoke but I’d like to know if they breed true? No pun.
I know DJ Short did a few limited edition crosses with some TBB he selected but what are the odds I get a great, true breeding male or female in 10?

One of the limited editions he did was with Neville’s Haze. Anyone here run it?
I ask because that’s the cross I have in mind with one of my own Neville’s Haze plants.

As for luck in the genetic lottery, who knows, only one way to find out ;) Pop those seeds and see what you get... Make sure you use any best practice to get the seed to pop not to lose any seed on the way.

As for getting the most physical expression from the genetics you got: one of my pet peeves that bug me is people breeding/pheno hunt under lights which are insufficient to actually pull the full genetic expression out of a plant. If youre going to grow these outside, fine by me. But indoors...I probably sound like a broken record by now but most led lights only give good coverage of just over 2/3ds of the par range (400-700nm). And only a fraction of rhe bioreactive range (280- at least 800). If you wanna be sure that youre not missing out on something i really rec supplementing your led light with something or maybe even go with a bulb, likely cmh, with good spectrum coverage. For leds, just get a few 400ish nm diodes and add them to your grow if you really wanna know what youre growing. Sorry for all that have heard me say this before, the smell and taste difference is just that big to me.

Ok well I have three 315w CMH with the Philips Agro flowering bulbs! Been using them since they came out. Just replaced the bulbs so I’m good.
It was years ago but as I reported at the time CMH was total game changer. The volatile terpenes in the finished product were sooooo much better developed and preserved.
I’m all about taste, even more then high so I get you friend 🙂

As for germination, I recently got 7 out of 10 GHS Neville’s Haze to grow (clones flowering now) they took 2 weeks but they are from 1998 as best we can tell.

Update- I went for the original DJ Short Blueberry F5 in the end, the more fruity, indica version.

Hope you find gold;) :)
Blueberry crosses always seem to end up really nice so be sure to keep males and pollen aswell.

I wish you luck. I have tried Dj blueberry several times, and never get what is advertised. Only once did I have some blueberry that fit the description, and it was purchased from some good old boys from Nelson BC. Those guys new how to grow good dope!

WOW successfully germinating 26 years old seeds is really impressive, I guess they were stored with great care to get 70% success rate. Growing them will be like a little time travel.
I've never used CMH but sometimes I add a HPS to my LED bars and the plants respond very well to the mix of their spectrum. Maybe I'll get a CMH kit, the price is much lower now.
Good luck with your Blueberry grow, there is many growers who are looking for the legendary berry phenotype.
