I just bought an under the sink reverse osmosis system. Does anyone out there know anything about these? It came with its own faucet... which i thought it would be able to connect to my existing faucet... can it not? What i really want to be able to do is somehow hook up a water hose to the RO system so i can get the water to my 55 gallon res. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

thanks for the advise about the charcoal filter. I'll keep that in mind. Is it easy to tell if it is wearing out or not? I can't run the tubing directly to my resevoir because of the location of the grow room and the water supply. But thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping that i could hook it up to my bathroom sink using the existing faucet and then find a water hose adapter for the faucet to hook up to it when needed.

from what iv heard R/O water dosent have a Ph and that you need to add ph to it.

RO water is the cat's ass, but it does have one major drawback; to fill that 55 gal drum, you'll lose 4-5 times that amount in wastewater...ouch!

The installation directions that came with this thing SUCK!!!! I'm a little pissed.

I know what you mean, i'm in the middle of installing one myself.

just a thought..... could you run a line under your house? you would only need about a 1/4" hole for the tubing on both ends.

thanks man.... i just wish that my tap water wasnt so damn bad... this RO shit seems like its going to be more trouble than its actually worth. My tap is like 500-700 ppm though... and theres no way i can use that. I wonder how much is going to cost me to pump out about 60 gallons of RO water a week on my water bill? I hate wasting that much water....

my tap is around 300ppm and from waht heard you should not worry about you tap if its under 400ppm because most of those ppm are stuff plants cant use and should not be counted.
