just a thought?

Hey everyone, just thinking out loud. Was wondering if anyone has frozen their bubbleruns in water and then sublimated the film of frozen water and trichomes. Would the water completely sublimate off of a glass surface leaving only the trichomes left to scrape up? Or would their still residual water left?.

I havent seen anyone doing or nor heard about it.

It seems to be working backwards / against yourself, if using such a technique.

Alot of Terpenes are water solutable, submerging bubble into the water, will allow some to be "off gased", atleast until the water is frozen, which is undesired in my world.

Grade or sieve techs are mostly utilized and are atm. the most beneficial / effective / used way these days.

Where more people should be looking and getting a tech on, is Sand Dollar Hashish.

Awesome, thanks for response. Im very new to sifting techniques and have a lot of trimmed material to work with, was just wondering what the over all best methods were. Dry sifting retains the terps better than any other form I take it?

Some cultivars, have a higher content of non water solutable terpenes (alchohol solutable terpenes instead) and such is ideal for washing.

Yes, Drysift is highly beneficial for preserving terps, like a cold environment and proper handling / storing of the material until usage.

To preserve terps the best bubble wise, FF (fresh frozen) is Your route.

When plant / buds is cut at harvest, freeze it immediately and then process.

The amount of time for the freezing to accour, depends on the freezing method.

But You can start process it, once it´s properly frozen.

I do like the idea of fresh frozen but i would need to talk with my friend about doing it. Right now i have a sizeable garbage bag of trim and crumbled bud/leaf material that wasn't kept cold. I also have a 220u 73u and 25u bubble bag. Would these be any good for collecting trichomes or do i need a size between 220 and 73 to collect and separate the fine plant material. I was planning on using the bags for dry sifting the finer material through the 220 and running qwiso on the material left ontop of that screen. Just wondering where i should go from there with the finer material that dropped through the 220

Material that pass through Your 220 screen, is potential medicine (thricomes) and should be catcthed in Your next bags (in this case 73u and 25u)

The more bags, the more refined Your project can be, in they end.

I would not qwiso when You have bags to run bubble with.

Big up

So its still a good idea to run the top material through bubble bags eh? Is it easy enough to do an i.w.e with the bags I have or is there another method which would work better on old super dry material?
Thanks for the replies man. Ive just been working away separating stem and large leaf material from the finer stuffs, its good to hear i have a few options : P

Run it through Your bags stacke,d so 25 buttom, 73 middle and 220 top.

Then the 25 and 73 bag can be used for smoking and the leftovers in the 220 can be used for topicals etc.

If You can source a 160 to put between 73 and the 220, You will be a even longer way.

Thanks for the help man, I tried sifting today and didn't get much in the way of results. There is a lot of fine plant matter that I cant separate from the tasties. Might have to try the static parchment trick to see if that can help at all. As for all my tumbled trim i'll run that through the bubble bags the normal way and see if I get anything from that. May have to get a 160 screen to help with the process.
