Johnny Chimpo's Reefer Madness

Thanks MGJ  The Chemdiesel is really frosty...next to no smell though. I've been reading about that quite a bit lately on other Chemdiesel grows as well....very strange considering the parents. Hopefully the smoke will make up for it...a stealth Diesel maybe!?:biglaugh: Everything smells stronger including the C99....which might get replaced soon with a frostier cut.

Just read about your rodent problem...hope ya get it sorted out soon.

I'm going to try and get an update done this week sometime...been busy lately...

How soon you think that Chemdiesel can come down if ferted properly? Gettin' curious about the details on that "frostfarm"....the stealth thing really has me interested :chin: Sounds like a good candidate for a slot in my "coco circle"

:D

No idea on the time for the Chemdiesel VT. First time running her...the sooner the better though. I'm only running one reservoir this run so it's hard to give each individual strain what they need unfortunately. It has a little bit of a diesel smell but not very strong. The smoke will hopefully be good or I might have wasted quite a bit of money buying a few packs. It could be an expensive lesson.

A couple quick pics...I'll try and get some better ones up later this week. Everything is at day 61 except JLP's SDIBL x OG bx1 (SDOG) which is day at 43, and the Bubba Kush S1 which is at 46. I chopped the C99 on 62.

Gorgeous phat buds JC :wave: PHAT :rasta:

I've read that chemdiesel is very potent - I don't mind if it doesn't smell much - never been one for super stinky plants, just calls attention to what I'm doing... With the amount of frost on that plant, I can't imagine it not being very stoney. My favorite shot though is the C99 - gorgeous! :yummy:

I agree with you MGJ:yes: I would rather have no smell coming from my grow room or something fruity if I had to...but no diesel smell...that just draws attention. I just did some reading on the Chemdiesel (Double D) and yeah it does appear to be potent....so It might be one of the few Diesel strains I keep around.

Thanks Stretchpup  I can't wait to try some of the C99...I need variety in my life.

Another update this week...I think that's a record for me.:D

Day 64 for the Strawberry Diesel and the Chemdiesel and 46 for the SDOG.

Lookin' dank and sticky as a mofo JC :yoinks: Great job!
Hope that c99 you chopped is a keeper.....love the way c99 finishes fast....and the pineapple smell is mouthwatering :yummy: Lookin' forward to the smoke report on that girl....

Thanks Dr Dog :smoke: I'll have to see how the smoke on the Double D is before I can see which one I like better out of the two. I really like the color of the Strawberry Diesel and the smoke is pretty good with a descent yield...just gave me red itchy eyes.

Mucho Gracias VT  Not sure about this C99...not very strong on the preliminary smoke report...it's in a jar now so I'll to see how a cure treats it. I chopped it a little early because my head stash ran out. I have MGJs to run here soon enough. I think mine will easily get replaced by the looks of his pics.

Thanks for the kind words and stopping by Sleepy

sweet thread JC. Nice genetics for sure.

On the Chem/Diesel, yea I got a couple pack myself. From what I have seen, it looks amazing. The smell thing is interesting. I have read reports of it smelling really good too. I assume this is a phenotype variation. I think there is a very good chance of finding some stinkers too.

I been away for a week to come back and find out the gallery is down....lol....I've never smoked his c99....gonna have to trade him for a sample of it :joint:

You tried foliar feeding fulvic yet? I have been hitting my bloom girls every other day during transition, and Rosy was right...less stretch....and flower induced quicker. I'd love to burn one with Dr. Lynnette Morgan

peace bro

Thanks Ezra  I was examining my Double D today when I went through my garden and noticed a a few bananas....very disappointing :badday:
My C99 I took down had a few buds that were lightly seeded (less than 10) so I knew something hermied on me. No more untested genetics for me...at least at $120 a pack. I might run it again just to make sure but I doubt it. Make sure you watch yours close....as I've read other reports of hermies.

Hey VT  No, I haven't tried Fulvic yet...I kinda forgot about it...now it's on my list along with Sweet. I think I might go with PBP this next run.

No pics for an update...I'll try and get some up later this week...I took down the Strawberry Diesel and Big Bud last night...running out of smoke again. I cleaned up the clone and mother area and got rid of a few plants to make room for some new plants more of my preference...some of them recently gifted to me.

Next run my plan is another SCROG with some C13, C99 (MGJ) and some Apollo 11 G4 (El Gato) that were all generously gifted to me. I hope I can come close to MJ's Apollo SCROG...we'll see.:chin: Everything still needs quite a bit veg time....

Damn man...sorry to hear about the Double D...especially at $120/pack....clones can be problematic also though, but all I know is that I suck at popping seeds, but I have a nice collection of meds to play with...and didn't pay a dime :D
Yea, I gotta dial in the molasses more....I need a good harvest this run....not gonna deviate from what has worked in the past this run....
I just don't have the patience, setup, or the means to wait over 60 days, lol...I like fast finishers

I can't post pics either :chin:

peace JC

Hiya JC
Now that's what I'm talkin about! An all Cindy all the time run:D Can't wait to see all these cindy hybrids flowering out!

Johnny Chimpo that is one fine looking setup :respect: I just had a read of your D39 grow, stellar! I'm amazed that it was only two plants... you have a way with the ladies for sure.

Now rumor has it that you are some kind of a wizard with Autopots and I think this is one time I'll agree with the rumor. So now that it's been established you know your way around 'the pots' I was hoping to pry a little info out of you on the topic.

Do you use the inline filter, if so do you clean it every two weeks per the manual?
Have you ever had a smartvalve stick open or shut on you?
Are the 10" pots enough room or do you sometimes find you have root bound issues?
Ever any problems with the medium remaining too wet?
Have you ever run anything other then coco/perlite?
Does your growth rate/yield compare to other hydro styles?
Have you modified anything from the 'out of the box' setup?
Should I stfu, smoke one and order a set already?

Sorry for so many Q's but I am juiced @ the idea of using these!

Thanks
GG

btw.... I love the nickname :headbange

I hear ya VT:D....I'm really starting to see the benefit of clones for variety in place of seeds. The only seeds that I'll be popping anytime soon are some DJS Blueberry and some C99...Other than that it'll be clones for awhile. I also like the fast finishers...straying away from these Diesel strains somewhat and getting some more variety....I should also be able to step down the odor control a notch too.:joint: Man....I wish I could say I didn't spend a dime on genetics...I've cut WAY back though...I gave out plenty of seeds to friends because I have no time to grow 'em out and they piqued their interest...

Hey MGJ  I honestly didn't even notice they're all C99 derivative until you pointed it out....not a bad thing at all.:D I still haven't decided what I'm running for sure...might be tricky with a SCROG. I was going to do just a C13 SCROG and then I got Apollo which has to be included and then Cindy finishes around the same time...so... I have a couple other things planned but I don't want to say until it's closer to happening.:chin:

Thanks for the kind words Ganja Guerilla

Alright Deep breath:D

Do you use the inline filter, if so do you clean it every two weeks per the manual?

I clean my filter about every two months...and even then it hardly has anything in it. A couple factors to consider are the types of nutes you are using. I'm using GH this run and they are pretty clean. On the main reservoir I placed the feedline about 1" above the bottom of the reservoir so any sediment settles to the bottom and never makes it in the feedline. Next run I'm probably going with PBP and will have to watch it closer.

I bought the 1/2" inline filter separately from Futuregarden....not sure what they include with their kit now. The original kit came with 1/4" line, and no filter. I also think shutoff valves are important outside the reservoir and between the feed lines to each individual Autopot. I think a 1/2" main feedline is important if you're running multiple Autopots to prevent buildup.

Have you ever had a smartvalve stick open or shut on you?

No....but I've had buildup (once or twice) right before the Autopot where the feedline meets the Auopot. I poked the feedline with a toothpick and it instantly started flowing again. I think the problem stems from some nturient that got dried up in the feedline in between runs.

Are the 10" pots enough room or do you sometimes find you have root bound issues?

I usually veg my plants in smaller containers so they have plenty of room in the Autopots to expand. I have completed full runs before...veg and bloom...in the Autopots with no problems whatsoever.

Ever any problems with the medium remaining too wet?

I talked to somebody on icmag that was using straight coco and they thought their plants look over watered. The Autopots go through the cycle so they almost run dry before they refill....so no problems personally.

Have you ever run anything other then coco/perlite?

No

Does your growth rate/yield compare to other hydro styles?

I think you have a little more control with other hydro systems so you could dial them in easier. I haven't extensively worked with any other hydro systems so I can't give you an educated answer for that. The way I see it is the Autopot is basically an automatic feeder...a "set it and forget it". I personally run it because I can't get to my grow everyday because of multiple issues and I don't have to worry about my pH fluctuating or a pump failing. I ruined a crop of True Blueberry in an Aeroponic system I built because I couldn't get to it for a couple days.

Have you modified anything from the 'out of the box' setup?

I described my setup for the Autopots better in the D39 SCROG thread(s) with a little more detail...I'll try again...I use an airstone (or powerhead) in the main reservoir and if I'm only running a couple Autopots I add a tiny airstone in the Autopot reservoir next to the Smartvalve.

Setup:

Main reservoir-->grommet-->1/2" shutoff valve-->1/2" inline filter-->1/2" feedline-->1/2" end cap. Off of the 1/2 feedline I have 1/4" feedline going to the Autopots with a 1/4" shutoff valve in between.

I'll get some pics in a few weeks when I start my new SCROG.

Should I stfu, smoke one and order a set already?

I for one really like them and went back to them after trying a few other methods for their simplicity. I've noticed the majority of the people that try them really like them...I've also heard very little negative reviews. They probably aren't for everybody but they are certainly worth trying out if you find them interesting. They are the only system for me personally. Good Luck

Hope that helps ya some :rasta:
