Joe's scrog got downgraded. Or upgraded?

Depends on how you look at it. I used to do 6 plants in 2.5 gallon pails.

Trying 2 plants in 5 gallon pails this time. The downside, the veg time is MUCH longer.

Strain: Bog's bogbubble (last I have unless I revert to seedlings, I am NOT cloning this time)

1 week into flower:





In the veg cab, have some interesting strains.

Sensei's Afghani #1, some Hashplant, and some Mazar.


The hashplant was overgrowing my space so much I had to revert to some extreme LST'ing!

Ive done 4 grows of bogbubble. Still have 4 seeds too, just time for a change of pace. I loved growing bog, but ive built a hefty tolerance to it.

So ill take a break and do clones from local friends a while.

Plus, im an idiot. I had my fav pheno cloned, and confused it with the worst pheno and chopped it. lol.

Oh well. Im curious to see how the 5 gallons with longer veg times produce versus the 6 2 gallons with shorter. Keep tuned, Ill post updates.

Oh, and one more thing. How long did you have to Veg the 6 compared to 2?

Your lighting will determine if larger plants beats out smaller plants in terms of yield,I'd say if you have 1 400W or less,stay with the smaller plants,if you have 2 400s or a 1K you may be better off with the larger ones.In either case I'd remove the nodes close to 1/3rd of the way up,those little nodes will yield little whether 400 or 1K and the upper colas and nodes will get all the attention.I really didnt use to buy into this,literally for years I wouldnt remove bottom nodes,then I started to.It was a rather large mistake waiting that long to do so lolEDIT When removing the bottom nodes you have to use your head and take plant structure into account.On some strains the lower nodes may be thick branches that curve up all the way to the top cola,these I wouldnt remove because they are "yielder nodes".On some strains the lower nodes are barely 6 inch skinny twigs,these are better off removed.Also this is for indica/mainly indica crosses,removing the lower branches on a sativa plant is a bad idea IMO

The two plants were about 2-3 weeks more to fill the screen than the 6.

Im waiting for that first few weeks of flower stretching to complete before I do some trimming. I can trace a LOT of those bottom branches to things up top, these plants have been in the scrog for 4 weeks (although the scrog has been raised about 1/2 way through that)
