'Job Creators' in Spain offer land to MJ growers

A Spanish village plans to rent out its fields for growing cannabis in an urgent bid to create jobs and money to pay off its debts, officials said.
The Catalonian village of Rasquera, population 900, voted late Wednesday in favour of a plan to rent land to an association that promotes the legal recreational or therapeutic use of cannabis by its 5,000 members.
“This is an opportunity that will bring money to the village and will bring jobs,” mayor Bernat Pellissa told TVE television after the village council, controlled by a pro-Catalan independence party, approved the plan.

That's a great idea hopefully it spreads around the world it could help people around the world hemp should also be planted on a major scale.

Sadly, they got told no, they could not do this, the problem was, they asked to do it publicly.

The situation is developing, but basically the legal Cannabis Social clubs here are doing grows, "almost legally" .... they have legal papers that, like those that allow you to run a private members club who sells cannabis to it's members, allow the club to grow it's own supply. The trouble is, it is not actually legal, the papers merely jam up the legal process in it's own stupidities.... So the Police can and will bust "Legal" grows as and when they find them, Rasquera, having announced they want to set up a grow, were instantly just threatened with a bust by the Fuzz, so have blown their cover.

I know people down there and have grown in the area, but it is not a great place to grow weed, 400ft above sea level and known for freezing fog, plants have trouble finishing right and the entire valley is plagued with itinerant Goat herders who go everywhere with herds hundreds strong of the poxy 4 legged Locusts.

Catalonia is the English version of Catalunya, I follow the local news in great depth.

No, they are not really about to secede, it is just halfwitted posturing from Mas, the current regional "President".

They were told "No" but still the same/old // same/old B.S. continues. What the "nationalists" fail to understand is that it would plunge Spain's [financially] richest region into abject poverty, crisis or no crisis. Part of the Nationalists sales pitch is that they are richer and "give money to Madrid" ... so they lie to people and imply they will be richer. Lots of big companies will leave for Spain Spain and they will become the poorest region.

Rasquera's Mayor, Bernat Pelat author of the nice cultivation idea belongs to an even more radical bunch of nationalist loonies. He is already well known to be a grower.
