JLP's Romeo and Juliet - *CLOSE!!!*

God, I love JLP.

Noone in the cannabis community is so generous, and i'd have to say his giving soul is pretty much unprecedented.

I mean, lets face it, Johhny Appleseed was a bootlegger. You grow good eating apples from clones...you grow good boozin' apples from seed.

Anyways I got a thread started over at OG, but its bugged as usual so I wanted to finally post something for this community of cannabis lovers. I'll post a "how'd we get here?" URL to that site when shit clears up. Enjoy!

First, some establishing shots of Romeo and Juliet in their cabinet. Unfortunately obligation pulled me and my grow partner to different parts of the state as our vegetating babies grew. We had to trust our grow to a neighbor who took take of everything. Unfortunately, we didn't have the ability to trellis or prune our plants until very recently, fairly late into flowering. For this our harvest will truly suffer - we're only running one 400w HPS up at the top of the cabinet and one 70w HPS beaming side light. :badday:

Here they are, freed from their cabinet for their big photo exhibition.

at this point trying to stake this chicks up is pretty futile. I did it anyway with Juliet, she still ended up getting a bit crispy from the light.

Here is a shot of Juliet that reminds me of a BOG photo. Except for the fact that his plants would be bigger, plumper, and ... in a one gallon pot. I think these are three's but they may be fives.

I'll pull a lower bud up to the light to show you just how dinky the buds are. Mostly sativa + low lights + poor utilization of light/space + old bulbs = low yields. The pot is fantastic, hopefully there'll be enough to go around!

I guess I should say a little more about what i'm working with here.

Organic, composted peat + pro-mix base

With Earth Juice grow/bloom, and just about every type of guano imaginable. I went with the "house of guanos" from worms way and I have to say i've been happy with the results so far all things considered.

Here are some shots of the sisters together:

in this one romeo's up close and juliet is in the background.

that's juliet on the left and romeo on the right.

I wish I knew what day we were on but I think as many as 40. Here's some macros...
this is romeo.

and a trippy juliet. She's much crystallier to the naked eye, but the loupe will be the final measure.

when the door closes, its just an innocuous closet! My grow partner has all sorts of interesting charms and scary-looking voodoo shit about. He says its good luck...i'm hoping its keeping our karma in the positive.

Keep checking up on this...things are about to get really interesting.

Bad luck on the percent female but at least you have one of each and they look good. You were lucky that you had a good neighbor.

Right on GW.

They look great. Those should be done in 2-3 weeks.

Good luck.

Thanks. Juliet is just now starting to put out a few red hairs.

You're about right. According to other people's experience, Juliet should be done in less than two weeks. Romeo = about three.

Funny how much more weight Romeo's got already too...it keeps plumping up by the day while juliet just stares at me, getting crystallier by the hour.

While in the garden today trying to trellis a lower branch of juliet, I broke it. Yum. Little pre-test nugs soon.

More later

cool mask >:D and perty plants.... i grew out Juliet once... great smoke, you shouldnt be dissapointed.

take care

The first part of the harvest has commenced. Juliet is now headless, finished at 56 days. Letting the rest of her ripen up before I pluck.

Was going to write a complete report including preliminary smoke report but the fucking landlord decided he needed to finally install the windows he promised before this grow started. Now i'm sketched...lights are off (not good). :yoinks:

I'll keep you posted.

The last pic shows the wonder of homegrown.

The top nug is a dried, pre-mature Juliet, the left a fresh-cut Romeo. The other nug looks decent but was some commercial bullshit that DID NOT GET ME HIGH AT ALL. Fucking rip-off. The little baby tomato is my pet who just chills by the window, staying small with only one tomato. Her clone-mother sits outside in the baking TN sun.

Cheers, (and wish me luck with the landlord)

Looks Great!..... did you grow the F2 stock? I can see by your picts that you have the Diesel Pheno type...It's Excellent, with good yields, even better if you top it after the 3rd-4th node.

I can't tell if you have a cindy Pheno.... it yeilds less but tastes out of this world.... you can tell if you have her by the growth stucture.... it grows long, skinny branches that need to be supported. Just like the C99 this girl is perfect for SCROG you will get bigger nugs if than Bush Growing... I even tried to SOG the Juliet both phenos.... the Diesel pheno gave me about 9 grm a plant and the C99 pheno gave me only 3 gms! so no mo SOG for her..... I just grow the Juliet Diesel pheno Bush and Scrog my C99 pheno * Note I call this c99 pheno the "Juliet" because the other pheno tastes like pure diesel and I just sell it as diesel ... tastes just about the same as my NYCD girls....

Anyway Great Job Bud
Give em a cure and your whole house will smell like "Grape Shark Tails" Fruit Snacks.... taste is outta this world! cherry/berry/grapefruity

This is juliet's last photo before getting some of her head buds cut off.

I like early-cut weed, and my growing buddy doesn't so we had to compromise. The top shit comes off and we let the rest of the plant go far into amber.

I cut the top of juliet with about 20-30% amber, and i'm still amazed by the couch-locking buzz.

A preliminary smoke report...

I cut the first buds for a test smoke about 2 weeks ago, and they just finally dried up. At first you seem a bit disappointed by the lack of instant head-change, but once you've cashed the bowl out you notice an insane, sailing sativa buzz. It reminds me of the first hints of hallucinogens coming on, where you're still happy, giddy, and "up".

I find myself staring at things at this point with a certain sense of revelry. I am content to just look at things that wouldn't be quite so gorgeous normally; yet i'm captivated. Rushes of paranoia hit me, but then disappear quickly.

After about 25 minutes i'm slapped in the skull with a heavy-eye-lidded indica buzz. Its a nice somewhat sleepy high that keeps you rocked for most part of the day. I like walking around in its somewhat stupor-esque cloudy high. Interestingly, after a few hours it burns off without burn out and you still have a pleasant, 2-beer like faint buzz.

Absolutely enjoyable - I can't wait to see what its like at true ripeness. You know i'll let you know ;)
