JLP's a99 f2's; Amnesia Haze x c99

Wrecked

yea looking foward to that report... been smoking two phenos for the past week or so and i really like this one as well.... PeAcE

OK - sorry for the high 'teaser' smoke report...those that have this smoke understand that the thing you least want to do is sit around inside after smoking it!

So here we go:

a99's growth had been a contentious one. She grew weaker than the Juliet, Mountain Jam, and Burmese that she was started with, and all throughout the grow she looked about 2 steps from death. I could not even ever get a succesful clone from her, the plant was so weak. More often than not it looked on the verge of death, barely able to support its own weight.

But everything about this herb other than its growth pattern screamed 'sweet'. The appearance of the nugs on the plant was definitely mind-blowing to this fairly new grower - pink pistils everywhere not to mention the purpled leaves and stems. Also, the smell while on the stalk was mega-potent; lemon, watermelon, pine-sol: metallic skunk to the point where your whole house would smell, even outside the door. This plant did not repond well to either topping or low stress training, basically maintaining a wispy sativa appearance no matter what i did.

The photos do not necessarily do this herb justice, just because of the explosion of colors that aren't really reproduced. I was shocked to look back at an archive of photos I have (from JLP's mothers) and this pheno does happen to look almost identical to the c99 he used to impregnate NYCD, and more than likely the Amnesia haze that makes up the lineage of this pheno.

Anyways, now that this stuff has fully dried and is on its way to cure its really amazing on the eyes...people who see it just don't believe how beautiful pot can be.

but this is a SMOKE REPORT forum, right, so where's the report?

There's just so much to say about this smoke....

First off, the smell of this pot is so different than what i'm used to that I might even label it obscure or odd. While it could easily be described as 'old school', or 'sativa-like' I think that's kind of taking the easy way out. There are just too many aromas to dump this into one group or the other - this doesn't have the pineapple/mango tropical fruit flavor of my previous c99 experiments at all. In fact, when I let some of these nugs get way too dried, I was shocked to smell something I hadn't smelled for awhile: the spicy, near-hashy aroma of commercial sativa. I knew, smelling this, that I would be in for a ride. There is definetely fruitiness in here - I mentioned that watermelon seemed to come to the forefront - but this pot is all about the spiciness of sativa influence: cracked pepper, sandalwood/incense, pine needles, lemon rind, and bergamot. It has the twang very reminiscent of a juliet i had done awhile back too - vaguely metallic but like sticking your head right down by the spice rack.

I mentioned that I let this herb get a little too dried before I started curing it. Hopefully, a slow cure will fix the trademark harshness that the over-drying produced. At this point i'm not planning on rehydrating them, both because I have never done so and also because they are starting to gradually gain back a little moisture.

Even so, the first hit (solar-bong) of this weed really tickles the taste-buds. Sandalwood is all over the flavor profile at this point, with a nice spicy hash kick to it. Its not exactly expando, or at least is not as expando as my Mountain Jam nugs are.

I've heard people describing sativas as 'racy' or 'edgy' to the point where they don't enjoy them, and I could never understand this...until this herb. That first hit instantly goes right to the top of your scalp, that creates a tingling and buzzing behind the eyes. As soon as this starts to work on me, I am reminded of that very enjoyable feeling you get right before you start to come onto a wicked LSD trip, vaguely confused but just blissful. Unlike LSD, you don't have a horrible 12-hour marathon to dread though!

Right after you start feeling that pre-hallucinogen euphoria, you instantly feel a surge of energy and excitement. I instantly think of 10,000 things that I have to get done, or at least want to experience.

For me at least, it is impossible to smoke this pot and just sit around...this is a blessing and a curse, especially at night. I feel very jittery, energized, and inspired (haze influence?).

The thing I appreciate most about this herb is the way in which it really makes you social and giddy. When I smoke indicas, I feel like my sense of humor and wit goes out the window - I can't just make wisecracks around straight people without looking half-retarded. This pot, on the other hand, is conducive to a number of social environments. I love talking and thinking about things on this herb. In fact, I can just sit outside and start thinking of things and I feel like i've fallen into a dream, trance, or at least meditative state.

I also now understand why rastas smoked sativas before going out for long days of physical labor. After smoking this, I actually feel stronger and more physically motivated - if I don't take advantage of this energy I actually feel sort of racy, ADD-like, useless.

As this leans heavily towards the sativa-side of things, I had to test the ceilling level of a99.

My mountain jam has a pretty limited ceiling - I get insta-stoned and smoking more (at least right away) just makes me cough. Invariably, I tend to fiend again about an hour and a half after my first toke.

The a99 is completely different. Smoking a little of this provides the insta-kick that I described. The more you smoke, though, the trippier it gets - though the jitteriness and paranoia (which I never get by the way) does keep increasing.

To give an idea how crazy this shit is, consider this: after smoking three good sized solar bongs, I was biking like a mad-man through my town. Everything seemed vaguely new, different, rearranged. After one bong of MJ I would probably be more than happy to just sit and chill.

I mentioned in one of my posts that this herb 'is taking some getting used to'. I never thought I would say that about any type of pot, but in this case its actually true. In that smoking just about any amount of this stuff will keep you haze-inspired for 4 or 5 hours, you have to plan accordingly.

I made the mistake of smoking a good sized ball of a99 scissor hash before trying to go to bed the other night. Oops - my brain was flickering like a freshly turned on HPS. It really felt like when you have consumed hallucinogens, then feel like they're all gone until you try to sleep.

Also, as a student i generally have to sort of sit-still. This is not the type of pot you want to burn and hear somebody idle on about some boring bullshit. You want to get out there and experience the world in everyway instead of just hearing about it.

As you've probably concluded by this point, this is some FINE marijuana. I do, however, understand that this type of herb is *not* for everyone.

I also am sort of reminded when I got to try some 5-year old neville's haze in amsterdam. When I smoked that pot I felt many of the paranoid, anxious, trippy, and amphetamine-like effects that I do with a99. a99 is also not the type of sativa whose speediness bows out when smoked in large quantities - other than a slight weightiness of body-buzz towards the comedown you would not believe that there's even any indica in here.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this pot develops and gains complexity with time. Perhaps some of the edginess and psychedelic aspects of this will diminish with time, or perhaps not. I LOVE the sativa high, all soaring and helium-headed, but many of my friends do not. After I burn some of this with them, they beg me to smoke some mountain jam to get them back down to earth.

I personally, love keeping my head in the clouds, but I do like knowing i have a knock-out like mountain jam on hand so I can sleep after smoking this at night.

This is some absolutely fantastic herb, and I know by the time I run out of it I will be cursing myself for not getting a cutting of this.

For most inexperienced stoners, this weed should come with a warning label, "you are not worthy!"

thanks for chiming in again jlp.

it'll never stop being crazy that the stuff i grow from your seeds ends up being so much better than stuff people near me grow after buying a bunch of not-so-great seeds

they never believe me when i tell them where and how it comes

look at this plant as a wimpy little baby and a two week flowering girl

great report... I also just finished the a99 and I also had a hard time with them from seed they just hated something that I was doing?..... anyway I took clones from most of them and started over ..... this time everything was great very vigiours grow *especially consdering I had lost the seed vigor....* BUT for some reason I never put them into flower I just kinda kept a couple in the veg room and one day I got around to putting some in flower and DAMN ..... nothing special until about 50 days then boom the most insane intense smell I can't describe..... incredible! and as for your discription of the high right on....... SOARING sativa ..... I puff tuff.... about 4-7 grams a day of good herb (sour d, mk-ultra,juliet,wonder d, Wreck) and this stuff I kid u not....... 2 hits all day . I got up took a deep hit of my freshly packed pipe and damn near saw stars...... but i was so energetic.... unreal...... so I returned home after a couple classes on campus and went for another hit ..... and passed it around to the boys...... we spent the rest of the day laughing our asses of playing friz golf.

Props gotta go out to JLP again ..... I think I have the same pheno u got Green Bush.... and all I can say is I know what you are talking about..... exactly....lol

needless to say this baby who I almost let go is a major Keeper.... and after the taste test I went down and took about 75 clones for this summer outdoor!
