Jersey Smoke report - 4 strains

Here is what's available for me @ this time in the NJ / Philly area:

Name: ?
Price: .08 for $20

1. Smell: Light skunky / sour diesel smell. Very nice when you crack the nug open & will stink up the room.

2. Taste: Taste like it smells. Good cure and dry.

3. High: Indica type high. Last for 2-3.5 hours. Nice when you don't have to accomplish anything.

Name: Bubblegum
Price: $500 Oz

1. Smell: Sweet / fruity. Very similar to Bubblegum strains I have smoked in the past. Tiny hint of funk if you really analyze the bud.

2. Taste: Taste is a little green. Dried well. Could be a bit smoother, but I am not complaining.

3. High : I am not a big fan of the Bubblegum highs. Up high, but if you smoke enough you can get get nice.

Name: Haze
Price: .08 = $20

1. Smell: This has a musky smell when the bud is broken up.

2. Taste: This haze has a perfume taste when burned. That is not a good thing. I think they may spray some of the so called hazes in this area. My friends say I'm crazy, but I've noticed this trend in the area for the last 2 yrs.

3. High: You do get high, but if I smoke more than a couple of bong hits, I feel kind of nauseated. I do not recommend smoking this unless you are desperate.

Price: $100 1/4 Oz

1. Smell: This nug has a light odour. Very light hint of kush / mint / punch. I really can't describe.

2. Taste: Tastes like it smells. Pleasant, dry and cured.

3. High: Not a heavy stone, but a nice stone. High lasts for 1 - 2 hours. Good pacifying smoke if you wants to smoke & do not want to smoke a strong weed.

Thanks for the report Nuggz. Awesome photography to. It seems like you're more into the indica buzz rather then sativa. Those prices are quite high but I know how it can been in NJ.

Its that simple... instead of gettign only 0.8 for $20, you can spend about $20-$30 in supplies and get an entire Oz. of herb which is better than everything that you've reviewed here! Its basically free weed as you'll most likely sell a bit to your buddies, and your not supporting rediculously high $500/o prices!!!!!

for the quality of the weed and legitimacy of strain from your regular ole dealer dosen't fit the price to me. maybe if more people would call out these wannabe gansta dealers out on their BS prices, we wouldnt see ounces for 400+ of high quality nugs? it is a black market after all. in the first place, reading a description of musty haze would make me think twice. grow your own and not have to worry about what other fools are spraying on their product they couldn't care less about. its all $$ to them.

i'm not trying to be an ass say your pot is shitty and mine is better. i just remember my noob days of then i was thinking i was smoking some Hindu Kush and then some real head puffs on it and tells me its just sexy beasters. i'm on the east coast and thats just how things are if you don't know the right people.

overall, nice report and good looking buds for up north.

I recently returned from NJ (Monmouth County) which is where I spent my Christmas visiting family. I brought my own just in case, but luckily my younger cousins were able to help me find some. $20 dollars would get me a gram in a little colored ziplock bag. It was extremely sticky. My cousins were amazed when I was telling them how I get QPs and 1/2ps regularly for the prices of their ounces and QPs. Apparently, it's quite common for people to buy dimes, nickels, and 20 bags there, which all come in colored 1-2" bags. Where do you get bags like that? I would love to store my seeds in them.

All around the east coast, buds are distributed like that. you can buy the small bags at some gas stations (behind the counter) or almost any arts and crafts store.

I personally enjoy the fact that in the East Coast, top strains can be sampled in such a way. You don't have to shell out 60 an 8th for something that you might not enjoy the flavor and/or high. You can simply sample a gram and then make up your mind. Or spend $70 for 3 20 bags of 3 different strains, and one dime of a 4th strain.

Nice pics and report. I also used to live on the East Coast (NY) but moved to CA about 10 years ago. I couldn't believe the difference in the weed scene when I moved out here. It's hard to believe that CA and NY are states in the same country!

As soon as I saw your post I *knew* there'd be a lot of responses from people saying the prices are too high or that you should grow your own but, as somebody who has been there, I feel your pain.

People in herb-friendly locales tend to forget that pot is really illegal in most places . . like they really will arrest you and put you in jail just for having a little bit of weed. I think back to the time I was growing 1 stupid plant in my WI apartment and totally had a freak-out attack and ripped it up when I though my neighbors were onto me. That seems funny now but it wouldn't have been funny at all if I had been caught.

That kind of prohibition drives up the prices big-time while driving down the variety, quality and buying experience.

Prices suck here. I am in North Jersey (in the country), and the weed prices here are retarded. I have been all over the lower 48, and it is more expensive here (north jersey/NYC) than anywhere else I've been. Even mids/regs are crazy. That .8 sh*t is ok if you want to sample some KILLER, but then people sell the A- bud, then the beasters, now green brick is almost acceptable at .8-1g/$20. I was offered .8 of Mo-Town Brown the other day, and the dude looked at me like I was crazy when I told him that I didn't want it; like I was seriously the first person all day to chuckle at his bud. I just recently had to tear down a lil grow due to the oppressive laws here (10+ plants = assumption of operating a narc. manufacture facility = 10-20yr !!!), so I can see why it costs more to a point, but WTF isn't this the GARDEN STATE? Lol, the summer weather and soil here ROCK!!! Believe me or don't......On a side note, all good bud here is given a fugazee name, in NYC it is 'Haze', and in newark/dirty jerz it is 'Pif'. $500 a zip w/o connections is a good price for A++, Not usually less than $350 unless you are helping manicure it lol
